Just add sound effects and it'll become even awesome-er(if that's a word)

Cool idea! Some sounds and accelerating speed for the character and it would be awesome!

Exactly when i was thinking of a way to battle the enemies the wizard spawned. It was fun. Just a bit of sounds effects and it would be awsome.

+ I like the simplicity.
+ It would have been boring, but the progress was well paced.
+ I like that the progression changed the way the game was played -- not just that it got harder.

- When the game resets, there's a bug where the explosions do not go away.
- Would love some sound

As I was loading it the loading bar got stuck at about 1/3 of the way. I don't know if this is a bug or just my super crappy laptop that can barely run my own game...

That was a fun little experience. The collection and aiming at the same time was challenging and the character slowly upgrading was a nice touch.

I initially thought that getting hit would reduce your level up meter ( and if it went below 0, then you would die ), but reading the comments shows me that nothing actually happens when you get hit, so I must have imagined all that. But that could be a good way to balance risk / reward of collecting versus fighting.

Overall, good job!

Overall good game, but could have used more content. Some audio, even simple sound effects would have significantly improved the game. Good job!

@moddingmachine If you have white dot at the center of the screen then game is loaded.
You start the game not as a mage but as a white dot :)

@gamedesignguy Hit from the enemies does lower your exp bar (we just didn't have time for some effects) but you can't die by this hits.
We thought it would be a good decision.

Really simple yet entertaining game. Perhaps an addition of sound effect can further enhance the experiences. I really like the used of transparency to indicate the health of the enemies, well done!!

Agree - some sound effects would go a long way for an already really great game. Nice work!

Cool game, it's really fun to play. :)
I wish there would be more steps before the game reset tho, I hope to see the concept get expanded!

i liked the part where you hit others and instead of a health bar on top or directly disappearing, they kinda fade out slowly slowly... GG! When i read the description, i was expecting that it would be some kind of nucleus/aomic fission since you mentioned energy and stuff..looking forward to where it goes in future releases :)

Haha I didn't expect all that to happen, it's a really well thought out interpretation of the theme. Sound would certainly be nice, but I know first hand how it can be really hard to find time to add it. Good job!

Very good start. I included it in my Ludum Dare 45 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/ZxefAL2rBy8
