Ahh.. so it's, um, June 9th… It's been may, 72 hours since the strike? The blast took out the city center. Few towers left standing. The Talaski faction claimed it, but I think that’s bull- no-one knows what hit us. People are dying everywhere. Not from injuries though, they're just dropping like flies for no reason. The Doctors have never seen anything like it. I'm beginning to think its… something else. Dunno if I'm gonna die too. I'll hold out another day here, see if things calm down a bit… But yeah… Not looking good.

You must recover for the Artifacts that Samuel left behind... Each one brings you closer to finding Samuel.

Good luck.

A fast paced Third-Person Shooter with full voice acting, set to a mystery to discover what happened to our world, who Samuel is, and why he needs saving. Part of our take on the theme was to start with no context. This is our 3rd Ludum Dare entry, and we really hope you enjoy what we’ve made!

*Best played with Headphones. The game requires you to search the map to find items and artifacts to progress the game, and recordings.

*We have updated the dodgy .zip to one that windows explorer can Extract, so people without Winrar or 7Zip should be able to play the game now! Game is unaltered.

Enjoy!

Game crashed when launching it, kind of stayed on a grey screen with the music then it closed.

@aaranos are you on mac or linux? if so that's probably why, but if you're on windows I'm not exactly sure then, sorry.

The default windows unzipping program cant unzip the file on your itch for some reason and says it is invalid. I unzipped it with 7zip and it worked fine. Edit: Just played it. Really solid character controller, and actually really good level design, I was able to kite around it very well. Good experience

Like the idea, and love how surreal it is. Of course, cheesy as expected from a jam game, so well done.

@bip for me, windows explorer could not open the file but 7zip could.

Would have loved a "walkie-talkie" style filter over your voice lines. Just to make it even more cliche, haha! Interesting enemy designs.

Cool game, the one problem that I had was, that I could barely understand the voice. And having to shoot enemies (pretty loud) while he talks does not make this better.

Very atmospheric. Spawning enemies when picking up audio logs makes it hard to listen to them.

Please don't name your rar archives .zip. I don't think reuploading a fixed archive would be against jam rules?

@matharoo Thank you! We had a ball playing with the vibes of the game. So niche.
@jake-marks We actually tired it! It was hilarious, but we found it was more surreal without it. I also wouldn't dare degrade Ben's British accent.

We also have updated the dodgy .zip to one that windows explorer can Extract, so people without Winrar or 7Zip should be able to play the game now!

Nice shooting mechanic and control. Monsters looking good) But i'm not an english fluent speaker, that's why I didn't fully understand the plot. Anyway, good job! It's was fun)

I Love how ennemies dies ! Love the concept of the city destroyed with floting buildings, but i think the graphism or the light management can be inprove to make a real atmosphere. I think the sounds can be a bit better, like on the menu, but DO NOT change the ennemies. Perfect sound when they die, love their color code and design, and again, what a funny way to make them disappear. Pop ! No ennemy anymore ! Lost in the void, eaten by a black hole.

NOOOO!!!! This was great! A ton of heart in this one... but my NOOOO is because the last audio log I collected cut off and the game ended! Never got to hear what the emergency message was! Nice entry :D

Game style is beautiful. But because of gun shot soungs it is hard to hear Samuel's voice.
Enemy's models are also very creative. Nice game!

I missed a caption. In the action I lost some of the narration's attention. Good job!

Amazing atmosphere. The voice over really sells the land and how it came to be this way. A crosshair would have been nice and the audio on the shots made it hard to hear the voice over sometimes. Good job.

Frankly I actually quite like the low-poly style. With some better animations, it could almost stand on its own. I feel like the combat was more or less a chore here; sit around a corner and snipe/stunlock everyone until you could get to the next recording. I did greatly appreciate the particle effect that leads you to the next one once you've killed everything, tho, that is a great touch.

I couldn't work out what they were meant to be, but the blobby enemies were very amusing. It would be great to turn down the gun and enemy sound effects a bit to be able to better hear the voiceover

The game idea was good, and I did like both the story and the games atmosphere. The voice acting is okay, but it often hard to hear what the person says. Overall a okay jam game.

The visual style here is interesting, I normally like low poly stuff, but I think the enemies needed to stand out more from the background, perhaps a more red tone? The audio logs were fantastic and built an interesting world, I just wish I could have heard more of them over the gunfire and enemies. Nice work!
