Chicken Nothing by sillyman987
You start with a chicken named Nothing. Collect eggs from him and sell them for one dollar. Buy another chicken for five dollars. You will need another coop after you get five chickens, so get one for 20 dollars. Use the arrow keys to move and space to pick up an egg. If you click a button you will need to click the game to move or hit space again.

Bug report: buying a coop does not actually reduce your money. Also, isn't there supposed to be a new coop appearing, like when buying a chicken?
One possible improvement would be to show the price to buy a chicken and a coop.
I think you should add some kind of "end" to the game. And it would be better if all chickens did'nt walk with the same speed movement, because you can put them all at the same place and grab something like 40 eggs with one button.
And all my chicks left the screen. I started with almost nothing except a chicken, and I finished with a lot of money but all my animals were gone. Sad story!
I think it's a good base concept, though at the moment there is no real challenge to the game as far as I could tell. You keep buying more chickens to up your income, and then you have to buy new Coops to house more chickens.
Just thinking out loud here, maybe there could be a mechanic where chickens run away, so you lose that income if you're not careful? Or you can crush eggs if you step on them, so you have to manage your movement a bit more. Probably many simple ideas to make the gameplay a bit more interesting in the long run!
Keep up the good work!
That aside, everything feels really "cheap", from the graphics to the gameplay (And no sound u_u). I suppose you wanted to try to make a game with an incremental system. If so, then mission accomplished ! Good luck for your future projects :)
Kojima genius resting)
ps and what is coops?
altough the start is really slow, but its still cool!
keep up the good work :smiley:
Fun programmer art!
Now I have more than 100. However, I wasn't able to know how much exatly because after 100 the counter dissapeared :/ (but could be a problem on my side, like having a too small screen ?)
Nice simple incremental game :) gg
I advise you to either make a responsive interface or that divides the values according to the uniter (ml, L, KL) but version $

One annoyance I would note is that clicking the buttons at the top takes "focus" away from the game, so I have to click on the game world again before I can use the arrow keys to move, which is kind of unnecessary and annoying.
Keep making games and watch tutorials to improve! Maybe find someone to work with together.
Your Ideas are good and with a bit more experience i am sure you could create some really good games :)
- WASD to move would be very helpful since the spacebar collects eggs
- Collecting eggs should raise your money. The separate sell action seems unnecessary (I did something similar in a previous LD and received the same suggestion haha)
- A level indicator on the coop would be helpful
- a win/lose condition would add some challenge. Perhaps a mechanic to lose chickens and losing them all ends the game?
Glad I got a chance to play it. Good job!
@coatline Thanks for playing!
Nice game
A general tip on graphics, try to avoid bright neon colors like the cyan sky and bright green grass. Making colors off shades makes it easier on the eyes. On a separate note, it might be neat if the chickens spawned random color variations.
The game needs a little more time in the oven, but it's a decent start.
Thanks for all the ideas!
But maybe you need to have an egg from start (but it'll be a chicken and egg problem, hmm)
Though game is raw :( Keep going!
walkAnim.SetBool("walking", true);
print("...woah, duude...");
```
@good-enough I spent a lot of time on that so thanks for the compliment.
