* *After Me, the Flood **

In the early 21st century humanity failed to stop polluting the environment and halt global warming. Because of the rising temperatures, polar ice caps have melted and turned earth into a gigantic ocean.

* *After the Flood: Humanity **

Now that there is nothing left and all hope seems gone, it is your job to build a new future. Construct a sprawling city on the ocean and show that it takes more than a global disaster to wipe out humanity.

Important info

  • Extract the archive before launching the game!
  • You need a working Java 8 installation (JRE or JDK) to run the game
  • Currently there is only freeplay mode. If you need a challenge: Build a city that supports 600 people, all in level 4 housing.

Controls

  • Use mouse to interact with menu and construct buildings
  • Left click selects menu options and places buildings
  • Right click closes menu and exits build-mode

Hints

  • You need to construct a town hall before you can do anything else
  • Build a wood scavenger soon. If you run out of wood and don't have one, it's game over.
  • Hold down the Q key to view additional building info (Amount of workers assigned and inventory status)
  • People will consume commodities delivered to houses. If certain demands are met, they will upgrade the houses. If demands stop being fulfilled, houses will downgrade.
  • Understaffed Buildings work slower that well-staffed ones. (Watch out: This may cause supply shortfalls)

House demands

These demands need to be met to sustain the particular level. Each level also has the demands of all previous levels.

  • Level 0 (Empty lot)
    • None
  • Level 1 (Tent)
    • Connection to town hall via road
  • Level 2 (Basic Hut)
    • Fresh water (Desalination plant -> water bar -> House)
  • Level 3 (Sturdy Hut)
    • Food (Algae harvester -> Kitchen -> House)
  • Level 4 (Comfortable Hut)
    • Regular visits from school teacher and physician

Really cool idea! I had some trouble getting started, but once I figured out the basics it went pretty smoothly. Some really neat interactions & mechanics in this one.
