Ludum Dare 45: v0.0.1 (Working Title) by Travis Carlen

[raw]
made by Travis Carlen for Ludum Dare 45 (COMPO)

The game is pretty self explanatory. I hope you have as much fun playing it as I did making it. My original idea for "Start with Nothing" wasn't working too hot, so I reworked my idea for "Every input does two things" to fit the category.

It is really good concept. I like how it requires multi tasking and it is clicker at the same time. I really like the idea. Good job!

OH MY GOD. What a great game! I was like, what's going on here. I unlocked the first stage, and then the controls kicked in.

I was actually laughing and screaming; this is genius! I didn't know where to look. Especially the last addition where I had to use my mouse again. WTF!

Great game, well done; played out smoothly on the browser and just worked fine. Most controls were easy to pickup without any explanation. Absolute fantastic job for 24 hours.

Fantastic game! Fun, but not too stressful. Clicked a couple things before I could figure out what was going on. Got the 500 coin game, then got up to 1000 coins, I think I'm done.

Great idea but i needed to read the comments in order to understand how to play ! I was thinking it was not working. I guess "Every input does two things" was a previous LD theme? It could be great with some "easing" on the minigames physics. Nice job tho

Ok, I see what you are going for with this game. Extremely simple and can be quite entertaining if you can split your attention in far too many ways to be reasonable. I liked it, but the game has a number of issues, such as game items spawning off of their screen and platformer guy having some really strange collision. Oh, and where does the game end? The game has a lot of appeal early on but theres only so much I can personally get of clicking a button and multitasking 4 microgames. It was a great idea, and given more time (you only had day two, so this was a bit more impressive for the time you had) it can probably flourish into something great.

You created 5 games in one. I love idle clickers, I would play more of this at a larger scale. Good job!

Really neat! I was disappointed to see yet another clicker but when I unlocked the first box it totally flipped it on it's head. I loved the interactive stuff and how it compounded to create more difficult gameplay as you unlocked new areas.

Wow, four games in one! I like this minigame take on an idle clicker. Well done

You only have 24 hours, so you make 5 games. You maverick. Seriously though, I had a lot of fun with this. It goes from simple game to eye crossing madness at a nice rate. It could do with some kind of penalty for missing though. I'd love to see this expanded as it actually reminds of an old flash game based around a similar idea of multitasking.

very nice idea, I loved the you can play many games at the same time with the same controls, that's a lot of fun.

Ahah, your game is kinda wonky experience, but in a fun way. Never have I ever been so much engaged in a "idle" game. And the cheese moons put a genuine smile on my face :)

This was an interesting concept for a game, but in all honesty it wasn't executed that great. Yes, it's 5 games. No, they aren't complex or remotely interesting games. But it's a solid entry, and with some more polish and a better idea, you could be very good.

Really unique take on the "clicker" genre. Took me a second to figure out what was happening, but unlocking the games was really neat after that!

Playing all those games simultaneously was fun :)
Is there something after the spaceship though?
I would have enjoyed purchasing an ending for 2000 coins or something!

@adrien-dittrick I planned to do something like that, along with purchasing upgrades for the games themselves, but I ran out of time before I could do that. Definitely something I plan on doing if I try to develop this further

Heh, fun game! It starts out innocent enough but you can really feel your attention getting split and sabotaging yourself in one game to progress in another! Nice job for your first LD!

Side note: my first playthrough none of the movement keys worked. I had to refresh the page to get them to work. No idea why

I wish there was end to this game but that's ok. Good entry.

@velvetlobster I don't know what could be causing that, but I'll try and look into it

Well you just made FOUR games for Ludum Dare. Presentation could have been a little tidier, but it's a grand effort! Well done!
