Nice little game. A bit easy to beat but satisfying to play. Would have love some music!

@tommyflower I definitely planned to have audio (among many other things lol) but I came right down to the wire just to finish. Starting to think I should try a team jam some time. Thanks for playing!

Good game, I appreciate the situation with the music but it does make the game a lot more empty. If you are going to develop this further, which I would like to see, aside from sound an idea would be to add more obstacles to make the task harder, and also to spawn more food than exactly what is needed to stop the player having to run the entire map. Overall however, great job!

Cool short game. The art is quite nice. I would have loved some indicators which direction the closest food piece ist. Because searching for them and not knowing the direction is more frustrating than fun. Overall good job:)

@roka-josh I agree with your suggestions! I was planning to have hawks that swoop down and a chase behavior for the foxes but I had to scale everything back to finish on time. The graphical side takes me way longer than it should :P Thanks for playing!

@ausstein Definitely! The food indicator HUD unfortunately met the chopping block as well. I need to improve my time management next time around. Thanks for playing!

I got too cocky and the fox got me! Nice little game. Speeding up the gameplay might make it more of a challenge though.

Pretty nice! Although pretty long.

Nice game, and I liked the idea of having to search for the food with no indicator.
For me what would be nice maybe is to speed up a little bit the gameplay, game feels a little slow, or maybe have a 'run' button with some stamina, so, you can try to dodge or get the eggs faster.

@0x01f0 Thanks! The graphical side of things is always hardest for me so I'm glad you enjoyed!

@sillyman987 Thanks for playing!

@sharbelfs I like that idea a lot! I think a run/stamina mechanic would work well with the chasing behavior I had planned for the foxes when the player gets nearby. Thanks!

I enjoyed it. Seems like a game I would have played when I was younger on addictinggames.com

I like the fox and chicken art, pretty cute. I found it interesting that the fox is much faster than you but it isn't usually running straight at you. So you need to pay attention to where they are moving and react accordingly. Though I did get unlucky a couple times and a nearby fox changed direction to run straight at me, which was too hard to avoid. It also takes a lot of walking to find food, and there is no clear indicator for whether or not there is more food in a given direction.

A cute little game with fun graphics. It felt a bit slow to play, lots of running and not much else.

Not bad! I think the foxes were pretty easy to dodge, but I did get hit once or twice. I think my biggest frustration was that the area felt... empty. And it was very much like doing work, rather than playing a game. The collection of items just didn't feel satisfying enough without certain feedback queues. Mostly it felt like I was wandering about an empty space hoping I would stumble upon a fruit, and keeping an eye out for a fox to dodge.

That said, a lot of the choices were spot on. You spent some time making the HUD look halfway decent, with proper menus and everything, and the graphics were pretty nice! The puns were also pretty eggselent!

I think the run animation of the main Hen could've used a third frame somewhere in there, because only having two frames for moving felt a bit choppy!

Great job and good luck going further if you choose to take it further!

Nice work! It's a good thing the foxes are not very smart. But who decided to put 3 foxes and one hen in the same fence?

@ninnec Thanks for playing!

@almost The foxes have 3 waypoint behaviors (loop, ping-pong, and random) so I'm guessing you must have gotten clipped by a random. I hear you about not knowing about where the food is. I planned to have some kind of indicator but didn't have time. Thanks for playing!

@nisovin Yeah the scope got slashed pretty dramatically to finish on time. Definitely could use additional mechanics to make it more engaging. Thanks for playing!

@aurel I hear you. I planned to have additional sprites to vary the terrain and also obstacles like rocks and ponds so it wasn't such a wide open area. Also for the animation I was planning to use interpolated keyframes but had to cut it short with the simple 2 frame animations. Thanks for the feedback!

@heyycap I think they snuck in looking for food :P Thanks for playing!

Cool concept, some sfx would have made the game come more alive. The foxes were easy to dodge, so maybe some sort of detection area and chase mechanic would have been cool. Fun tho :)

I have to send this to my father, as he just bought him self a chickens this summer and he is finally having some eggs as well :D Really shame you were not able to include any sounds to support the mood, but I get that. There is not much time during the jam and you still did really great job! It is a funny little thing with original approach to the theme! Good job

Great game! I had fun playing the game! I agree with the others though, some SFX and music could boost the experience players can feel playing the game. Nice work!

@mad-brokli For sure I definitely planned to include that. Love your company logo btw!

@jin9310 I've always been interested in having chickens one day but I'm not sure if it's in the cards haha. I wish I had sounds this time around. Ironically this was the first LD where I planned to record my own sounds (rather than using sounds and opting out of audio) but I didn't have time for either approach :P Next time!

@ahistyap I agree. Thanks!

Thanks for playing all!
