A platformer with minimalistic graphics and 8-bit music. You start with no abilities, then gain them gradually. There is an enemy that bombs you from the sky, you need to defeat it. You can see the game as a metaphor for defeating our problems when we had nothing at the start.

The main idea (escaping from bombard) is the same with my earlier prototype, Escape From Bombard. I didn't use any old code from Escape From Bombard, though, all game code is written from the start.

I had a nice time playing this game, but I think that it might be a bit too difficult. I thought the simplicity was nice, and the audio felt pretty good in relation to the visuals. Nice!

Some of the spawn timings for the bombs can make it almost impossible to reach the next platform. Biggest problem for me was it coming in when im in a jump and have no where to go. Otherwise its a fun game. Good job.

I really liked it, the hitboxed are a little irritating but still really enjoyable!

Nice little game, a bit frustrating but overall playable and enjoyable while it lasts. Did you notice it is possible to deflect bombs with rockets (even if they fall down a bit later then)? :)

Really fun! And the music really hyped me up!!

It took me a really long time to get to the rocket launcher but once I had it and was tasked to finish off the RED RECTANGLE, that was totally awesome and rewarding, that's some engaging difficulty there.

I still wonder what my player character is!! is that a blocky kitty??

@catusfelony I am not sure what it is, neither, but it can be a cat. I was thinking of a cat when I made its ear.

The game was challenging! The explosion radius feels a little too large and I kept getting killed by falling bombs while jumping. I ended up exploiting the final boss to beat the game by spamming rockets before it appeared causing it to never drop bombs.

Well done though!

Interesting idea, the visuals look fun and the sound is alright. The 30 second wait is a bit tedious and I gave up reaching the rocket luncher 5 minutes in.

A fun short game. Some polishing could be done, such as adding visual cues upon evolution. In addition, I suggest adding distance between the main character and the enemy, as well as reducing the radius of the explosions. This would reduce the difficulty and allow the player more foresight and versatility when platforming. In addition, this decrease in required precision from the player when jumping would allow you to tweak the currently stilted variable jumping, by setting the y velocity to some division of the upwards jumping velocity (instead of zero) when the y velocity is upwards and the jump key is released. The music during the jupming section is repetitive, but the boss music is well done, and the slow motion during the final moments of the game are a nice touch. Nice work.

Fun game! I died a lot, but got better each time--a working trial and error game, which makes the gameplay fair. The music was amazing, especially the boss theme. It made me not want to give up. I had to survive the second phase for 15 seconds, but I can see from the screenshot that it was initially higher than 25 or 30, so I've played it after the balancing.

I like it is a bit challenging, timing is essencial.
The controls are very responsive.

I could finish the game, but it was very hard. I suggest some balanco to avoid the frustration. But overall is a good game, and the music and sfx set the right mood to the game. Good job!
