Story and hints:

You are Pluckie Duck. Secret Operative of SAASFD, part of F.E.A.T.H.E.R. After all, you are a special forces DUCK.

While under-feather investigating the evil goings on in the Duck Fortress of the undead duck emperor, you discovered his horde of undead duck minions. alas.. despite expert espionage and infiltration. A malfunctioning walkie-quackie unit alerted the enemy of your presence. Caught undercover, they are looking for you.

The duck undead are quite stupid, and most do not detect your presence as a threat. But, they will KILL you on physical contact. Avoid at all costs

You have many traps stashed around the fortress, the big blue guys are attracted to the wrapping paper facade.

Find your way to an exit. The hunt is on, Pluckie. Good luck. ..out..

Versions and OS:

The Linux version requires the library "sfml" which is available from the package manager of your distro.

The Windows version has required dlls included. I had trouble compiling in windows, It was 2 days late.

I fixed a bug where the game would crash rather than restart. It now restarts :) I fixed a 2nd bug where character movement was broken!

Comedic, and very interesting, could use a bit more work but looks great

I enjoyed the humor of your post! I found the game difficult to control, but easy enough to figure out what to do.

Well done!

I like the idea of a rhythm-based movement system, but without some audio or video indication of the rhythm, it's hard to tell when my character is allowed to move, making it hard to judge if a risky move will succeed or fail. Good application of the theme, and an interesting game idea, but more feedback needs to be provided to the player.

Seemed like you could only walk at certain times but there was no indication as to when you could move -- thought it was based on music/sound, but there didn't appear to be any. Couldn't get very far because of this.

This is quite fun! A bit easy, but it's satisfying to neutralize the enemies. I don't understand why movement has a fixed rhythm, an 8-way control scheme would have worked just as well. This is where I died:

The glowy-eyed skeleton caught me by surprise!

Controls were really rough. No clue what i was doing or how to do it and what i could figure out how to do didnt work very well. Just the basic walking which didn't seem to make sense prevented me from trying further.

I agree. the controls are very janky.. I wish i made some kind of indicator to help illustrate the rhythm of the movement, but of course, i ran out of time in the compo :)

Cool game, loved the duck filled story line. Controls felt a little weird with movement but other than that good job!

Only second try, might give it a few more.

I find the movement a bit weird, as it takes a while to pick up on first press, but then it's smooth. Other than that it controls fine

The puzzles were good, hindered only by the controls. Character designs were also quite nice.

Liked the hand-drawn look of the game, and the world building you put in around the game's setting.

I like the art style and would love to see it animated. The movement was sluggish and kinda difficult to use. But I like the concept. And not just because it's ducks

enjoyed the level design and detail. enjoyed the puzzle aspect of the traps. As others mentioned, I struggled a bit with the controls, but alas it is a good 48h entry!

Interesting spy programming game from scratch ! Add an indicator number of the trap item on the HUD will be better, and sprite's animation else that's good start.

16 traps found (and 3 bags) that bag surrounded by people caught me out.

I like the idea, but without any audio the rhythm based controls feel a little sluggish but once you get used to it timing movements to avoid enemies is still pretty fun

Interesting maze games, I was a bit confused at the rhythm based concept. First I moved by tapping the WASD keys and they didn't respond, then sometimes they responded so I thought it was a rhythm I had to find in silence. Later, I realized I could press and hold for movement but there would be a delay before movement. I got past a lot of enemies and moved around the environment but I failed to complete the game.

I don't know what happened but my version has no sound so I don't know what rhythm I need to move at and if there is no sound to guide you then at least something in the UI that keeps the beat would be nice to have to help know when to move. Other than that I think the concept is neat just sad I could not experience it. :/ Keep it up though and improve on it for sure :)

Also, I found a way to cheese it. lol All I have to do is start the game and not move for 10 minutes and then, when I inevitably lose, my time is 10+ minutes :P lol

Interesting! I like how there's a big map to explore and you need to figure out where to go. Some animations would've been nice. Even the player moving up and down while moving would've done the trick. But in any case nice job.
