The Automation Revolution is in full force. The unemployment rate is rapidly climbing, breaking records on a daily basis. The few that thrive are getting fewer and those that remain see their empires grow faster than ever before.

In New York City, crime is on the rise. The poorest neighborhoods are plagued by robberies, petty theft and murder more than ever before.

You are a part of the lucky few who had escaped the life of crime. To do so, you had to do some morally questionable things.

You hope that it is all behind you...

Honestly, it reminded me of the old dope wars game made over in a way. I really enjoyed the graphics and the gameplay was pretty fun. The police showing up seems random and like always the RNG had it in for me but meh lol. I enjoyed it.

What an awesome entry!! Probably one of the most polished games I've seen on LD. Everything from the storyline (we don't see enough LD games with proper intro / end!!) to the graphics, animations, mood, controls, music, etc. is just so smooth and well made.

Pretty much the perfect LD entry in my book, well done!

Here I am, nearly $10 away from getting the revolver, only to narrowly miss the alleyway, because I bought everything except boots, and get shot by an officer.

Thanks for all the feedback. Hopefully you guys can make it to the ending. Might make it easier if people find it too hard.

This is really well done. The mechanics were intuitive, and being able to purchase stuff between rounds gave it an extra hook. I played it all the way through to the end and enjoyed it the whole time. Great job!

Haha great submission! The initial intro scenes gets you right in the perfect mood. I had to restart because I forgot on how to hide in the alleys. Graphics, music and overall vibe fit great! Loved the theme interpretation. I would add a menu screen with options / or add them to the bottom of your itch page!

It is the best Ludum Dare entry I've played until now! The graphism, the story, the gameplay, the SATISFACTION when you pick pocket to people at ones!!! Good job!

@croewens the itch.io page has screenshots of the instruction screens you can use for reference. I'll see what I can do about displaying instructions during gameplay if players get stuck.

@hamzalk we had opted out of the audio category because the music we used was not made by us. We decided that focusing on the gameplay, graphics and overall mood was more important than creating an original soundtrack for this jam. I think we made the right decision.

Okay, this game is actually pretty solid. As a fan of stuff like "Beat Cop" I really enjoed this type of a gameplay. Nice music (I would listen it outside the game), short but suitable story. Visuals are nothing special, but I like it anyway.

Excellent Entry! The artwork is great, the music really fits, really fun to play, with all of the upgrades you buy each pickpocket session is a little easier. This is very polished considering the time, well done!
