Oh wow, lots of emotions with this one. The bird is very emotive!

I didn't understand well how I make the flowers appears, but yet I managed to finish the game. Simple, cute, poetic and philosophical, as always. Good job! ;)

As soon as I saw your game, it seemed familiar to me... And yes, I remembered that I had played your previous game for LD44! Indeed, a unique unforgettable style and a great game, thanks!

Beatiful game. It was hard to understand the mechanics for finding the next flowers (found the answer on newgrounds comments).
Otherwise, a beautiful, calm and emotional game which fits the jam theme perfectly.

Things I didn't like:
* I took a while to understand the goal and what I had to do, it felt like trial and error for the most part.

Things I liked:
* The mood is set perfectly: the music, the motivational messages, the narrative with the doubt cloud, very chill.
* Awesome pixel art!
* Nice ending, very cute and beautiful.

@stefanie-leitch @betelgeuseman thanks!

@blobo thanks, the chick is normally sad, gets more scared if the walls are closed, is ok when feather is revealed, and happy when it finds a feather!

@lereveur The puzzle ended up a bit more harder to figure out than I liked, but sometimes you can figure things out without knowing where to go in the first place! (You go where the walls least close)

@brusi @eduardo-yukio Thanks! You go where the walls least close. I think after making the game I realized the messaging probably would be more clear if the first few levels showed exactly where to go that made the chick feel better (food, hints of the mom, etc) and that's where flowers would grow. Then when the chick doesn't know where to go, it'll be more clear it has to find at least where the flowers will appear so that it can keep moving forward.

Figured out that the walls are kind of a hot/cold thing. Didn't figure anything else out, but that was enough to eventually win the game.

Very cute! At first I didn't get it and thought it was random, but after reading your tip it became a fun puzzle game. Love the art style with the baby chick crying when the clouds get closed, and the music sets the tone nicely. Though I think it would've been cool if the music change based on how closed the clouds are. But maybe that would sound annoying. In any case, well done!

Interesting game, but the puzzles were a bit weird. The graphics are really cute and the music is great. Good work!

I really like the graphics and the music in this game. The gameplay is okay, but what makes this game good is its atmosphere. Overall a good jam game. Well done.

Lovely little game. Music and graphics were good and played very nicely together with the theme to create a soothing atmosphere.

It took a few levels to figure out the main mechanic, but once it all clicked together it felt quite original.

Well done!

Very cute graphics and music. I didn't realize there was a puzzle though until I read the comments, I thought it was just a trial and error game.

Hang in there, little chicky! Creative and nice-looking game! For me, I think it should either introduce some new mechanics or end a little sooner.

Very cool entry, quality and coherent art and mood. I am getting hearth-broken when chic is crying :(

@ogre That's the main part of it yeah. The rest is reading the text and some environmental storytelling. I'll have to think about it more in terms of making it more mechanically satisfying. thanks!

@sheepolution There is a noise effect that increases when the walls are close, but it's perhaps not as obvious. Thanks!

@demuss @ithildin Thanks!

@solah What do you mean by weird? Like kind of indirect and not as clear? I think that would be right, that's something I would have to think about more. Thanks!

@jk5000 I didn't quite get the gameplay where I wanted, but thanks for the praise!

@sylvie It ended up being a softer puzzle than I had imagined, but technically is beatable using trial and error as well. It awards the player for at least putting in the time, though ideally I would have made it feel better. :sweat_smile: Thanks!

@madbarron Yeah, I think so too, though it is pretty short. Perhaps some more sonar or tracking mechanics that tie into the theme well. Or maybe things that generate negative energy and you need to move them. Too late for now I guess, haha.

@tomeks Thanks! The chick represents how people feel sometimes. Hopefully, it will get better for them like it does for the chick.

Nice puzzle game (from the other comments I read). Unfortunately the mechanics where not at all easy to figure them which made the game feel very trial and error :cry: In fact I should have readed the other comments before playing it :cry:
This is a shame because the game has excellent graphics, excellent and original protagonist [a chicken]

I must be the only one since others succeeded, but please help me out, how do I move anywhere? I don't seem able to walk past the walls, no matter if they are moving towards or away from me and if they are extended or just by the edges, so I'm missing something obvious but I can't figure it out.

@ynneblack you have to find the spot in the level where the walls are most far away from you. Blue flowers will appear, and should eventually reveal a feather.

Really nice game! The art style was really good. I have to say that it was nice with not so much information other than to move around and figure it out. Some more features could have been added as the last levels felt pretty similar.

That was so cute!! I loved it to bits, couldn't figure out what was the secret, or if there was one, I'm bad at finding those out.

Cute game!! :3 graphics are beautiful and music is relaxing and fits the theme. I liked the theme too. Gameplay was a bit difficult in the beginning but when I got it, I enjoyed the game more. My heart was in pain when the chicken cried :'( but the ending was soo warm. It made me happy :')

I don't understand how I am supposed to find the blue petals, and initially I thought I was supposed to do something with them though now it seems I'm just supposed to keep looking for more.

My strategy seemed to be to walk around at random. I got as far as "I hope you find the right path", then came to these comments to figure out what I was supposed to be doing. It makes more sense now.

The art and sound are pretty nice.

There was also sometimes a strange issue where text would appear slowly for the messages.
