I really loved this! Great job with the music and syncing the game play to the beat. I got into such a good flow state by the end of the game. Also, rhythm game as a battle mechanic works so well! I think my main criticism would just be with the world, as it quickly became repetitive with just a few sprites for buildings and just one type of environment. The over world movement ended up feeling a little vestigial since all the musicians ended up in just a few clumps anyway. Just that nitpick aside, I absolutely loved it!

I liked the idea, but I had quite some trouble realising what the arrow-key gameplay mechanic was at start as the indicators were quite difficult to see. At the beginning, with just the drum, it was also quite a dull sound for a rhythm game. Still, I can see you guys take this game to great lengths if you pursue it further!

What a great game! I played the game on the highest difficulty and some of the patterns have been very hard to play on the arrow keys. Triplets are kinda fast and the doubles alternating between UP/DOWN and LEFT/RIGHT have been very hard to play in such quick succession. I just wish there were more different patterns to play. All in all it has been one of my favourite games so far though. Great work!

Cute graphics, i loved how the different instruments combined into a whole sound, and that bossfight!
As a note, you should look into the itch.io launcher, sadly your game is not compatible with it. https://itch.io/app

I loved it; always up for a good rhythm game. Amazingly polished and it feels good to play. This is the first LD game I played to completion so far. One knitpick is that pressing up and down at the same time is amazingly awkward on certain keyboards. Also, since the arrow receivers are at the edge of the of the diamond and new arrows spawn at the center, I found my eyes getting dragged around and pinging around the screen. I got used to it, but it was very distracting for the first few minutes.

The art, the music, the gameplay, the story! Everything was so perfect! Except maybe the gap between intermediate and pro which is huge x) but amazing game!

Excellent game! Idea is great, music is awesome with all the little instruments coming together. At first I had trouble seeing and following the arrow in rythme, but after a while it clicked and was super enjoyable! I mean in intermediary, because pro seems way over me in difficulty! Excellent job

I like this game, it has a neat idea, polished realisation and good art. Nonetheless, the mini game has some problems with UX and UI.
1. It starts almost immediatelly. A short 3 second countdown will help.
2. There is a lack of feedback then the arrow appears.
3. Arrows are hard to detect they have a similar colour with other parts of UI.

It has been said, but I also had trouble seeing the arrows sometimes.
Great game overall, thanks for making it!

Really cool application of the theme and I'm always down for a rhytm game. Love how the walk-cycle is in sync with the music. The boss fight gives a satisfying conclusion.

Only nitpick I can bring up is that a few patterns start too early and pressing Up/Down simultaneously is a bit awkward.

@maliyshock Sorry, but due to the audio limitations of the Gamemaker html 5 exporter, we couldn't create a web version of the game. And we don't have a Mac or a Linux computer to create builds for these OS

Ah this was a great little piece! The music bits were great, making me want to see what each new recruit would add to the overall theme. And the resounding final battle theme kept that mood going. I didn't really have any trouble until the highest difficulty, but I did play through the game twice on the other two. Really liked how polished the overall experience was, and honestly it'd be pretty neat to see more if you ever choose to expand on this.

I guess my one criticism would be having the arrows stand out from the markers, for some parts it felt like they blended in - especially initially when I didn't notice the arrows moving since they game started almost immediately.

I'm definitely going to give it a go on Pro again for sure!

This game is soooo amazing! I loved it! Of course, the best instrument in the game was the gameboy (lol). The only criticism I have is that the accordion didn't make noise when recruiting the accordion player. Otherwise, it was great! One of my faves.

As others said, the arrows was hard to read sometimes, but fortunately they weren't for the final boss :D
Anyway, this game is great, the musics (the Boss music <3) are great and the accumulation of instruments is very well done and very satisfying :)

I was a bit confused initially, because playing clues (i.e. rombuses that show when to play) do not stand out and are mixed visually with notes particles. But I got used to it pretty soon.
