Start alone and naked on a deserted island.

Try and get the resources needed to fix the broken boat and sail home.

Controls:

Fishing: With a single villager selected, click on the ocean and hit the fish icon.

Chopping: You can chop trees and harvest rocks by selecting villagers and then clicking on a tree or boulder.

Building: If you have the resources, you can make buildings. Buildings make passive resources that can then be harvested by villagers.

Note about farms: You have to click on the farm after building it to chose what it should grow. Strawberries, corn, or cotton.

Note: The up arrow button on all the buildings doesn't do anything, we ran outta time :(

Dude you guys did amazing!

Hardest part was figuring out how to feed your dudes.

Whoa this is really neat. Took me a second to figure out how to move the character and then I realized it's like an RTS movement, which made sense when more people showed to be able to moved around for resources. Amazing work.

i am far too dumb so it took me a while to notice i had to select those guys to do stuff ... the game is neat, mechanics work just perfect .... perhaps the only thing i would say is about the music, which although quite nice, since it has a short cycle starts to get really annoying

My character died asleep and woke up and stood there untouchable for life...cause he's dead.
My first 4 characters died before I realized all the things to do, so I'm gonna restart it...but tomorrow, it's late. I'll be back!

@velvetlobster Yeah the music is super annoying, but I decided to do it myself instead of free assets. Probably a mistake in hindsight considering the length of gameplay. Im no musician LOL

@itsdanidre Undeath was out super secret feature we implemented. Definitely not a bug ;)

@itsdanidre It sounds like a lot of people die the first play, and then the second play people do much better, haha. Thanks for playing.

Very nice game. Kept me engaged fully, not just from the panic of approaching death at every moment! Had some issues with mouse interactions on the browser build, but they weren't significant enough to keep me from beating the game. Good job!

I thought the game was really impressively deep, for something made in such a short period of time. Very reminiscent of Age of Empires, which I love. There were some UX / UI issues with the interaction that caused a bit of frustration but otherwise I thought the design, mechanics and presentation were commendable :) I'd love to see this concept taken further!

Nicely executed game! Being castaway that repaired that ship, i would be quite disappointed, that my ship sails away without me. 😂 But thats life.

Okay, I'm back lol. Beat it :sunglasses:
Poor humans though, I took off with the boat and left them tending to their resources still :flushed: ![Capture.JPG](///raw/0fb/8/z/28d75.jpg)
Relaxing music though. Neat!

Really nice game, I liked the smooth and quick animations really fits the game/genre. Unfortunately people died before I understood how to play but I learned how soon after, so I say it was still pretty intuitive.

Great game! Way to go, coming up with the tight mechanics. Everything works!

I won! RTS game in my Ludum Dare? Yes please! Music was sweet. Got a kick out of that censor bar. Pixel art was pretty good, though the grass could've been broken up some. Notifications as a tutorial was pretty nifty. Appreciated that boat animation rather than spawning dudes instantly.

UI was a bit frustrating, more so since clicking on stuff is what an RTS is all about. Perhaps more of the UI could be seen at a glance (hunger/sleep icons over the villagers, x/10 bar on the buildings, x/100 in the resource panel). For Ludum Dare, the game was probably twice as long as it needed to be.

Overall, great job, and thanks for sharing!

Nice work, fun little game! I think you could have made the mechanic for keeping food a bit harder, after harvesting my first farm I didn't really need to think about it anymore!

@robodoig Thanks for playing. I agree! The game was much harder at one point, but we were afraid it would be overly frustrating. Still coulda been tuned a little better. Thanks for the feedback!

This game is really cool and super cute! Great job on the graphics and sounds, I really do like them a lot. And the gameplay itself is fun. I love management games, and I actually made a game very similar to this for a global game jam one year. So I loved playing it (:

I didnt really run into any issues other than being kinda bad at eyesight so some things on screen were a bit hard to see/read, but overall it didnt really hurt the game much :D

Well done!

The pixel art was great. Interesting game mechanics wise. The UI controls got a bit frustrating sometimes, selecting/deselecting the villagers, clicking on the right icon for the various buildings, selecting different villagers while a building icon was popped up(would have prefered the UI to disable on selecting different villagers). Also my first villager died and the bookmark thingy on the left side still had his slot saying "died", maybe its intended to be this way but i would have preferred the bookmarks to only show my active villagers. I do understand the game is made in a short time and overall it is a very cool game :)

I really enjoyed this game. The pixel art was very nice! What I would have hoped for would be some count down until when someone gets hungry or sleepy :) Other than that , good job :)

Nice Game!!!! The pixel art is amazing.Maybe a tutorial and a drag to select the villagers will be a nice add. Something like Oxigen not included. But i like the mechanics and the challangin. Nice entry

@danielmotta Thanks for the feedback! Just to make sure we are on the same page, what do you mean by drag to select? Holding left click and dragging brings up a box and selects every villager in that box.

Great game! The music fits the visuals well and watching the villagers row their life rafts over was amusing. I noticed two things that made it difficult: 1) If a villager was standing near the building, I couldn't click the building's buttons, and 2) you can't take a villager in need off of a task, which led to one of mine starving. Besides that though this was very enjoyable, well done!

@mharring both of these issues we noticed early on but did not have time to fix before submission. Excellent feedback regarding that! We are working on a post jam version that addresses these issues.

Noooo, the ship left all my people do die... they worked so hard so hard along side Franks corpse.

Mostly fun game. Generally in this kind of game I prefer to just give orders and have the guys do whatever needs done, including feed themselves and sleep rather than me having to micro every unit. Still, I'm sure that would have taken even more time that you didn't have.
Over all I like this sort of game and you guys did great for a jam. I tried getting my team to make a game of this sort.

Great job.

Well done! Our team had a quite similar idea in our brainstorming session but we decided to do something different.
Love the pixelart and the amount of gameplay you were able to put into the game in the short period of time. Had some troubles with the controls but as already mentioned - awesome job!

Really nice. Really enjoyable. And I love the art-style. Am I the only one who misses the Lemmings games?
