There is more by jakiteli

made by jakiteli for Ludum Dare 45 (COMPO)

"There is more" , created for Ludum Dare 45 - Compo. Game is a 2D platformer, where player starting from nothing, gets access to more hotkeys/keybinds, with each level. There is 8 levels in the game, which means that in the end player has 7 buttons to use (on the first level you "Start with nothing").

This is my first time taking part in Ludum Dare, so I decided to do something I didnt in a long time - 2D platformer. thumb1.png

Pretty short, but pretty fun, I like the idea a lot.

It's solid and I like how you introduce new abilities, but it was really short even for a Ludum Dare game. The movement was also kinda drove me crazy with how slow it was. The art style was also really boring.

Fun concept, the additive controls were cool. Should add some levels that utilize everything at once!

I really liked the duck animation. Kind of weird being a paper airplane but not being able to fly. I like gaining new abilities and how they were introduced. I agree that the last level was anticlimatic and there should be a level that uses everything.

I love how the new controls just float in the background, funny stuff. Great work, and congrats on your first Ludum Dare.

I like how you tried to teach the controls midgame. The game is simple and pleasant to play

Now that I think of it, I could try and make more levels for the end-end, without adding anything new.
Thanks for all the feedback, I've been centered on the goal too much.

There were very good ideas, it's a shame this was so short. Maybe missing some very simple background audio. Overall pretty consistent, nice platformer. Did you realize the LMB platform can be moved at will between jumps, so basically ruins the level since you can access anywhere with it? :grinning:

@djee yea, I realized, but I decided to not bother with it, so I wouldnt make is feel even more clunky.

I like the idea how you get a keyboard control every stage. very simple art, so it's kinda relaxing. Well use of the theme.

Favorite part was the feeling of getting the keyboard back as the keys fell down. A fun concept you could easily see expanded into a bunch of levels.

Cool mechanics but I wish I had the more levels to explore and se how to combine them all.

Simple and fun. Green platform level remembers me Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy, than you can stand on platform and move it)

Interesting game, was a bit short but still fun. Wish there were more levels when new mechanics were introduced

Very simple, not very pretty looking, but does its job. Plays well and kept me hooked. Wish there would be more levels.

@kirroyal you can drag green box, unless you stand on it.
