Really lovely solitaire, I would be thrilled to see the whole deck of cards done in the same art style, it's very unique

I almost missed the pdf for the pain text because the plain text ended up as first option on itch! And while it contained the same humor, I think the more personal touch of the illustrated version elevated it several notches. It would also have been fun if it was made in style of a card-game and card-game instructions you might find in a store. I'm a bit at a loss as to how to properly rate this, but I do enjoy the absurdity of it.

What @gabriele said - would've been cool to see maybe a deck with the art style in the pdf, as a fully usable 'game'

Not sure how to rate, but bonus points for an unusual submission type!

I dont know if I played it as I should, but the thing is I have some good times with my cards. And I found out my Ace o hearts is missing.

Cool art style, very neat graphics. Please do the whole set! The game feels somewhat unfinished because we only get the instructions. But it is definitely playable and it works :-)

My first game went very quick and very well: first card revealed: ♥10, then played ♥9 ♥8 ♥2 ♣10 ♣9 ♣7. I win, not exhausting at all! Second game: I had very few choices along the way, 20 exhaust. Third game, 0 exhaust again. As soon as I get a heart bigger than an Ace, I seem to do fine =).

Rules question on my second game: when I have nothing, I reveal until I have something that is not a club. If I reveal a spade, and play it, do I correctly interpret the rules as saying I must then play the club(s) that were earlier revealed? Or should you generally reveal until you have a non-club?

When talking about "exhaust", you call it "draw", but in other places I believe you refer to the same action as "reveal", would be good to be consistent.

Thanks for including the plaintext version, I could not figure out what "2s Exhaust" meant =).

That was simple, and yet fairly fun, and involved (at least a little) more thinking and strategy than most solitaire games I've ever played!

This is really neat, I didn't think I'd see a physical game in this set. I am not a huge fan of solitaire style games but the idea and execution is really original, nice job!

Great entry! Really brings back memories when you could see boardgame prototypes as entries in the LD. Great job!

@jimbly your first interpretation is correct, yes: you only reveal until you have a non-club when starting from nothing

aw dude i wanna review and play this but i don't have a deck with me and i don't have the time because of school projects but i really wanted to say i think it's really damn cool you made an irl card game for a game jam. i love board and card games and as much as i'd love to try this one i fear i might not get a chance to playtest and review it on time. read the rules though super cool idea.

I tried playing with consequences mode enabled. I regret my choice.

Great game

So I printed out the zine and bought a pack of cards to play this! I cheated a little bit in that I didn't play with consequences, but this was a nice game! Strategy wise I think it was a little easy, seems like the best option is just to reveal all the cards to give yourself more options, and you can usually work it out from there. But it's still nice going through the process. But yeah I won both the regular game and the game with diamonds on my first try :)

It's great that you made a physical game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 45 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/ckBb1ej2CB8
