In all seriousness, I started it up again and it's a cool idea, I love the character designs a lot.
There's just one thing I'm not too sure: are the creatures asking for a specific terrain arrangement to live there? I tried to satisfy them, like one of them said 1 house and 6 fields, so I put a house in a middle of 6 fields and other things, but that creature didn't seem interested in it :( Is there something to do to make them happy?
@randdir Oh yeah, I think if we can do another update I'll lower the volume  Thank you!
@weine We didn't get to make it clear enough in the game, so I'll try to explain it here:
Each character wants a 9-tile square "home" of their own. In the center you have to put their house. The digging goggles guy lives in the lean-to with the log; the gasmask mohawk guy lives in the round boulder with a door; and the scythe guy lives in the farmhouse. In the other 8 tiles, you need to place tiles that the characters like. They'll tell you which ones they like if you walk near them and press "I" to Inquire about their preferences.
@snesgaard The placement is also a little weirder than ideal... placement happens from the center tile. So, sometimes, even if you walk up to the edge and press P, it won't place because an extension from the center tile would be placed over existing ground.
However, single tiles should always be able to be placed.
Eventually I want to have a little transparent preview of the placement with red X's on overlapping tiles, so it's clear why certain arrangements aren't allowed.
Hopefully someone will get to see the little victory animations after all! :smile_cat:

The track "Building Bridges" is available for download and royalty-free use, and we listened to it endlessly while we worked on the game. It really helped us find an atmosphere to go for with our gameplay.
We also created an entry for the jam in case you wanna check :)

Still neat game overall.
