Leap by Adam Elaoud

Infinite Runner with abilities!
Leap and bound your way across valleys and over hills :mountain: as you try to become the best runner!
Watch out! You must sacrifice your lives  to gain abilities.
How far can you make it as the game continues to speed up  ?
Write your best time in the comments (my best was 8123 :trophy: )!
Controls:
- Press/Hold SPACE to jump!
- R to restart
- ESC/P to pause
- SHIFT to slo-mo
Power Ups:
- Slo-Mo (slow down time for 1 second)
- Double Jump
- Glide (hold space to glide)
- Platform Squish (make platforms spawn closer together)!
Known Bugs:
- Occassionally, the first platform will be unreachable, if this happens, just reset the level (Press 'R')
- Very very very rarely, the upgrade system will cause a crash (this is being worked on)
- Web GL version is super loud for some reason (recommended to turn down volume)

As others mentioned, the music did get a little repetitive. That kind of thing happens a lot in these competitions (I've gotten this feedback quite a few times too!) I really like the way you did the life/upgrade mechanic - very simple and effective.
My high score was 1970.
Thanks for a fun game
(bugs/issues) When upgrading at the edge of the platform, you then have no time to react and just fall down. If you died and press ESC the character continues to run infinitely (currently the distance he went shows 20k and he is running for like 5 mins).
This is only issue with random generation. very often platform are soooo far away it's impossible to jump even with double jump.
One thing I noticed was it was hard to properly time my jumps when the character would jump outside the screen.
I like the concept, but for me, the abilities seemed to harm me more than help me at first. I would try to test out some of them as soon as I got them, and then die, and it really required a change of play-style when I was used to playing a different way. Maybe that's just me.
Love it!
Every single time i started a game first gap was too big so i lost 1 heart (always!)
Then when i was presented with a choice "double jump" or "platforms are closer" - i naturally choose double jumb because i mistrusted you with those platforms :D
Great pixelart btw - i really love it - platforms reminds me old times with first Mario and Gumbas :)
I like the graphics by the way, game looks pretty cool!
Controls were very responsive and the upgrade system was fun. I never came across a heart though. Can you get them back?
I think the music loop could use a little extra polish. It is simple and works well, but the loop is very obvious and comes often which can get distracting.
Well done!
1. The music is too bleepy and repetitive.
2. It seems there's a bug where when you restart, the first jump is impossible.
3. You really ought to get more than just three lives. As it stands, three lives is just enough leeway for one upgrade and one death. I like the idea that you're trading extra lives for powerups, but I do think that you get too few lives to really explore the concept.
