It's the year 22XX. Humans have aqquired the technology to have their minds run on quantum computers, making them practically immune to most kinds of physical injuries. In the last decade a so-called 'full-emersion VR experience' game hase become more and more popular. people bet on surviving the longest in this virtual shooter environment, but of course, everything has a price: one you can only pay with your mental health.

I didn't really think a lot about humor in this game, I guess the sometimes stupid enemy AI is kinda funny.. :) - Pepijn Bakker, aka Coderstools

Cool game! It plays and looks really good. I liked the progression idea of spending health to get a higher max health, and then some upgrades costing more health than your current max so you need to upgrade etc.

I think adding more bass to the sound effects would really give the bullets more punch!

Wow. Amazing game. Congratulations. The music was fantastic. It really fitted with the fast paced action. Also really enjoyed the map layout and the art in general. Very addictive!

Pretty good overall, but it's really easy to cheese the enemies just by standing at the end of a corridor and shooting them. Having more enemy variety (behavior and and type) would vastly improve the game.

Good job.

Very cool game! I like the style and the fast paced action. The camera switching to the destroyed tank was a nice touch. well done!

Nice sound effects, I couldn't really understand where is my money or what is the currency for my upgrades and it seems like there is a slight delay between pressing the button and my tank moving which can be crucial in a fast paced game like this. Other then that, pretty solid entry!

Overall really fun but the upgrades dont feel powerful. Maybe you could have changed the size, shape or color of the projectiles or something. Sill really good job :D

Level design allows cheating by shooting enemies one by one. But this won't help beyond wave number 3. And I just couldn't get enough upgrades to survive on later waves. I think the balance is wrong for an LD entry (a game people will play once or twice before moving to a different one they need to rate), but I still liked the game a lot. The graphics are great (I love pixel art), the music fits the action, and overall impression is just great!

Managed to get until wave 60 or so, made 237 kills. It was glorious. Really nice concept.

By far the best game I have played so far! I don't know where to start :) The pixel art is amazing. The epic moment of slow motion when killing an enemy is so incredibly satisfying. I might steal this idea for the next ludum dare :P The Music was great and and fitted the action gameplay perfectly. The upgrades gave you a feeling of becoming more and more powerfull over time. Especially the upgrades to your firerate were cool. You did an unbelievably great job balancing the upgrade effect, their prices and the strength of the enemies and waves. Sometimes the enemies got stuck in narrow corridors which made it easier to kill them. I don't think this was intended but I liked it because it made you feel even more powerful. Playing this game made me want to checkout your games from the last few ludumdare gamejams but it seems like this is your first time participating, which makes it even more impressive!
We also created a top-down action shooter and would be really happy, if you tried it and told us what you think about it :)

Really fun game! The dodge & run tank tactics really got me. The tab-to-shop gave some pause & consideration space.
I got to wave 13ish and 49 kills, when the gatling-tanks came in and cornered me
Loved the 'kill cam' feature too, nice way to highlight a moment and give some rest, but not too long to be tedious.

Nice one!

I love the slowmotion when an enemy dies. The game is really simple and runs amazingly well. Really polished game. I survived until wave 13 and then I had to reload and died...

Super fun, great music, great art. Went to wave 23, but since there was no new opponents and i had all the upgrades, i stopped, i belive if there was more new enemies i would keep playing it for very long time.

@edevjogos there is a last enemy, the bomber, but it appears relatively late.
