Les Pattes (The Legs) by JediNeeson

[raw]
made by JediNeeson for LD 44 (JAM)

Each player must control one leg of the extraterrestrial insect. The insect spends its vital energy to move and has to reap resources that can be exchanged for vital energy if it manages to reach the outpost. The outpost also gives him a powerup that will help him to cross the course until the next one. Each power up also improves the look of the insect.

Strongly inspired by Gettin Over It, we have intentionally made a hard-core game out of its particular controls. We wanted to create a relaxed atmosphere in the game and wreak havoc in your living room just as Overcooked do. We would love to start from this prototype to make it a game for a Twitch / Youtube public. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEaYybE82KU The Legs Prototype Picture.jpg

Oh, if only I had friends, then I'd play this. It must be hard getting ratings since it requires friends + controllers which not everyone has. But even if I haven't played this I have to say it looks really fun and innovative, and the graphics are pretty nice too! Great job!

It looks super fun and like a great party game, but unfortunately I don't have anyone to play it with right now!

I rated it on what I could. I wanted to try and give you some kind of feedback, I imagine it may be a bit difficult, but its really awesome to see that you pushed for a really innovative looking idea. If I get a chance I'll post some full feedback.

I'm quite impressed with how complex this game is given the timeframe. Good job!

Controls are pretty hard, but it was fun to play, great work guys :)

I agree with maloy for the control but I think it's worthed to try and still playable. I think you could put AI so the balancing on the gameplay itself will be easier to receive. This is cool for a game jam!

I'm not able to play the game, due to a lack of controllers and people, so my ratings are based solely from your video. The game looks really innovative and I look forward to trying it in the future when I have enough people to play with.

Thanks for rating our game!

Hello. What a strange game - and for 4 players. I haven't many controllers at home, but according the video I can more or less efficiently understand the work that you did. The intro is a good idea - pleasant enough. I saw some bugs, but they don't ruin the gameplay. The way you managed with the theme is a little bit strange, but I like it. Good work and really well done. I wish you the best ++

PS : mais pourquoi nommer le jeu "les pattes" ? Français ou Canadien ?

Very nice idea. I love Getting Over It, and this one here seems very promising/interesting. However, it hard to play without other people. Haha. Going to test it, when my friends visit me.
Video looks great, so I can't wait to play it!

Graphics and music are fantastic. I def can see why games like OverCooked were your inspiration :)

I wish I had 3 other controllers. And three other friends :(

Looks like a neat concept and fun to play. I can attest to how crazy and fun the couch multiplayer games are like Overcooked! I would like to see this added to twitch or make some sort of matchmaking to play with strangers on the internet. Maybe let people communicate through emojis?

Un jeu multi ! un choix dangereux pour une ludum dare mais ça change c'est cool !

Now what a collaborative game idea!
looking at the video the game seems a bit slow, but I guess coordinating the 4 players requires time to communicate and enough fun.

Other than walking maybe combo moves between 2 players can be added, like grabing with 2 legs, climbing, throwing, jumping...well you get me and I'm sure you're full of ideas yourself ^^
keep it going!

Really clever! And tough in a fun way! Well we still have some bugs we're working out on our Ludum 44 game...but over all we're really happy with the concept and feel. Give us a check! ;) It's called Current_CE

@ursagames Thank you for your time and your feedbacks, it was a pleasure to watch you try our game. As you have seen, our game has some bugs and lacks of balancing but we are confident that with a lot of love we can make it a wonderful game. Hoping you can play it when it comes out in a few months.

You have probably heard this one before, but I dont have four friends to play. Definitely looking forward to you making this a full game, ill try to get my friends over so I can rate it. Looks like a lot of fun from the trailer though.

I have actually played this with a team, it was really fun! One thing that could use improvement though were the graphics and terrain design. They felt a bit unpolished and bland. Overall, solid entry.
