60 Second Supermarket Sweep
Controls:
WASD to move, F to Interact, Esc to pause the game and access the options
Objective:
Fetch all the items on your shopping list before the store closes. You can buy things from the mysterious upgrade shop outside the supermarket to improve your shopping experience, but be aware, all things have a price...
If you find the game is running a little slow (ie it's a bit choppy) you can always adjust the graphics options in the options menu to something that works for you.

Yes we know you get slightly more than 60 seconds in the game, but the alliteration was too strong that we didn't feel like renaming.
Of course this was made in a weekend by two people who also work jobs and have lives, so it's far from perfect and there is a lot of room for things to improve, so we hope you'll forgive any unexpected behaviour. Depending on feedback received we may make an improved 'post-jam' version.
I'm interested to know if our game is worth continuing development on. To do so, it would be great to have some more detailed feedback from you, the people who have played our game.
If you have a few moments and feel like leaving us some detailed feedback here are some questions we'd like answers to:
Did you enjoy this game? Would you play it again, or recommend it to a friend?
Would you like to see the concept for this game expanded?
What elements of the gameplay do you enjoy the most?
What elements of the gameplay did you not enjoy?
Thank you for stopping by, we hope to have improved your day 😃
Software Used:
This was built using Unity 2017.4 with the PicaVoxel plugin, MagicaVoxel for all our models, and MSPaint ;)
All art, music (all written and recorded by @Limejuice123 aka Embers of the Willow Tree) and 90% of the code was put together by us in the 72 hour period. The other 10% came from our unity gamejam template.
Patch Note:
Thanks to the great responses from our early testers, we've found and fixed the one tiny line of code that was causing a crash whenever the player went for a second game. The good news is that you all enjoyed the game enough to want to play it a second time in a row and found the bug for us. Awesome.

Nice Job you two!
Wasn't immediately obvious I had to find the entrance to the supermarket. How do you know where to find the items? Is it just random?
Seems a last minute bug made it's way into the build, we'll work on getting that resolved before the deadline. Thanks for the feedback, we hope you'll check it out again in the future.
Update: Yup, found the bug. Patching now, and getting a new build uploaded.
Let's talk about the good parts!
The idea is hilarious, as a nightowl living next to a supermarket I can totally relate! Graphics, animation, music, setting - it's all amazing and conjures the best kind of goofy mood. It's a lot of fun and was totally worth reloading it 2 times! Love it.

The game is hella fun!! when you can destroy enviroment you don't need anytthing else for fun.
the choppyness was a headache...but still good.
I saw some posters were in hindi, think someone is from India :)
I wanna KNOW which game engine is used??? GIMME ANSWER!(Edit: seems like LWJGL)
@5n1p3r-4r73m1s Also, in the description it says that the game is made in Unity, and it has the Unity splash screen.
One thing I would've changed is to make everything a bit more colorful.. Not sure how to express what I mean, but to me the colors seem a little under-saturated
It would be nice if the player movement could be a tad faster, this would add up to the time-limited feeling that should be achieved
To not make it too easy then the time could just be a little less
BUt overall a nice game!
- The destructible terrain, although it didn't seem to impact the gameplay, made me go "oooh" and was a standout feature
- The sound design having the auto checkout "unexpected item"
- The concept and ergo the game loop, since they build off a game show, are super understandable
- The voxel art was nice - I'm surprised you managed to get so intricate in the time given
Things that could be improved:
- Odd random bugs, one I had that wasn't mentioned above was that when I visited the bottom right corner of the shop, I started sliding to the right and couldn't stop it, so if I stood still I was always moving...
- When you go to the bottom of the shop, the wall re-appears over your view - maybe look into a making that wall toggle semi-transparent once you're in?
Overall fun and well-realised :)
Anyway, I like yours more haha. Good job! Love the graphics.
My favorite part was sending the carts smashing around. I couldn't quite figure out how to get better at the actual game, e.g. finish my shopping list. I just couldn't find everything. A little more straightforward sense of what to do and how to play would make it more of a game... but it's fun to just mess with as is.
The entrance should be closer, it was a bit confusing the first time.
Screw that old ladie :)
Things I was really missing:
- introduction the game objective
- help on when to use the interact key
- a large display support. When clicking on the enlarge button, the game did not scale up
We didn't really have time to implement a more explicit tutorial into the game so tried to make it as intuitive as possible (run around collecting items, get to the checkout and leave before time runs out) but you're right that it isn't initally clear. We'll certainly have a good think about how to better turorialise the gameplay for the next iteration.
On the subject of the 'large display support' there is an option in the in-game menu (under graphics) to toggle fullscreen on. For some reason the itch.io page fullscreen button that gets added doesn't work
There should be a prompt come up when you get near something that can be interacted with (a little speech bubble with the letter F in it) but if there are any missing it would be good to know so I can fix it for the post-jam build.
I'm glad you had enough fun to keep coming back to it, I'll certainly try yours when I can.
But its a good game, the idea is quite simple but is really nice ! Good job !
I loved the Audio first game I rated 5star in that so far ;)
A couple things, I personally did not like:
1.The walking speed felt verry slow imo. I'd have made it faster with maybe less of a timer.
2. The old people stopping you even if you made sure to keep quite a distance. I would have reduced the trigger distance of that. But those are personal choices more than anything
The game didn't scale up in full-screen for me, but I think that might be some sort of Unity Web Player issue?
The graphics are pretty good and they fit the gameplay. Level destruction was a good touch.
**THE BAD**
The speed upgrade was a necessity to play, otherwise the player is way too slow. The old ladies that stopped you when you bumped into them were a little bit annoying as they took control away from the player. The movement felt a little bit buggy at times (felt like I was slowed down for some time until I moved around in a certain way and gained back speed). Some items were obscured behind shelves and the main entrance wall had clipping issues, making it difficult to see inside if close to the entrance wall.
**THE NEUTRAL**
I am unsure about the music. On one hand, it has an Indian touch to it, but then how does it fit in a supermarket setting? Perhaps something more calm, elevator vibe might have been better.
Overall, good entry but requires a lot of adjustments, bug fixes and balancing.
I didn't really need them once i realized where to find thinks.
The Physics in the game felt great and the destructible enviroment was fun to play with, but I don't know if it fits the game.
It's a great mechanic to build upon on anyways.
Keep it up guys!
