Skeleron by Teh_Thanos

[raw]
made by Teh_Thanos for LD 44 (JAM)

The goal of the game is to make sure you don't get killed for as long as possible and collect as many bones as possible. The longer you survive the higher your score. You can trade bones for upgrades but be aware you will be weaker and the prices go up the more of them you buy

HOW TO PLAY

Walking with WASD, attack with [spacebar]. Go outside of the spawn area to start the next wave go inside to prevent it from spawning.

HEALTH & MONEY

You start with 200HP,which also act as your money, and when you kill there is chance they will drop a bone which without upgrade gives you plus 10HP. Enemies damage goes up over time .

Upgrades

There are four different kinds of upgrades which you can buy at the shop.

Speed - Gives you movement speed

Shield - Reduces the damage taken from enemies

Attack speed - Makes you attack faster

Bones - Increases the amount of HP given by dropped bones

Good idea, but bad implementation. Average.

The idea behind the game is pretty solid and fits the theme, but I found the implementation leaving much to be desired.

There aren't any significant landmarks on the battlefield, which makes it difficult to tell where I am. I also don't appreciate the invisible left wall.
The implementation is also pretty buggy; after 3 or 4 waves the timer for whatever reason doesn't advance, leaving me trapped.

The idea is pretty nice, but unfortunately poorly done.
There isn't really much, even fights are quite difficult, I have no idea how to kill those enemies and also, the animation is pretty slow so it stops me from dodging.

Hope you will improve this game

@coder-channel @spotted-metal @noobexception I do know that the game is of poor quolity I made the mistake and used a graphics engine I didn't know I think I will continue it thanks for the feedback :D

You have a solid idea, but the execution was lacking. I do like the sprite work and animation on the skeleton player but I would've sacrifice that for a better build of the game. The invisible wall doesn't make much sense, especially given the fact it looks like you should be able to explore the area past the invisible wall. Enemies spawning behind the walls where you can't reach them makes it impossible to beat. I do want to say that it's alright for this game to turn out not great because you are still learning and I hope you keep learning and keep striving to improve!

I can see you have an idea here, but the game leaves a lot to be desired. On an audiovisual level, yes (no audio), but just a lot of easily fixed developmental rough edges as well— like the pixel sprite assets being blurrily imported with the filtering setting on, white bits on the edges of certain frames of sprite animations, and of course, the game quickly becoming bricked due to enemies spawning out of the accessible game area.
I encourage you to explore tutorials and get to better know and make use of the Godot engine as you go on to make future games.

Solid idea here, that could expanded. Right now, it's a bit buggy, sometimes the timer fails, sometimes the door fails, sometimes the enemies are on the other side of the wall, breaking the game. Nice take on the theme, but a bit unpolished.

Gameplay is pretty OK, main char is really nicely done but the background makes my eye bleeding.

I like this "firefight like" concept , the main char animation are nice but the background would have needed some more work

I would also have added a graphical hint for the wall on the left

Still a nice work for a solo !

you should have paid more attention to how all the objects looked in comparison, the idea is nice though

The idea is really cool ! It is just sad that You hadn't time to develop it more (bugs, audio...) :/ I would love to see a post jam version :D
