Story

After spilling coffee over your laptop and accidentally deleting the game files of your actual game jam submission, you make a pact with the devil in an attempt to recover them, unaware of the consequences.

After refusing to hand off your soul, as you had agreed to, the devil makes you an offer:

"Collect at a hundred lesser spirits for me, and I will accept them as payment instead."

On a quest to escape your unavoidable death, you venture into the caves of the underworld, killing bats and capturing their spirits. Be wary though. While swinging over the deadly lava pits of doom, be sure to look behind you from time to time. Although you've made an agreement, he might just try to take your soul anyways... He is the devil, you know.

Very well polished, art is neat. A tad hard to control tho. Good submission.

Enjoyed this! I like the complexity of the controls, hard to master, but you can go real fast. Has a nice art style too.

Despite just being a swinging game this was very fun.
It was short and sweet, looked good and felt good.

This was very very fun! The game got me into the flow and just when I thought I was gonna win, I fell into the lava, 3 souls short of 100! But the devil was gratious and accepted the souls anyway, so now I can sleep well knowing that I saved my soul AND my LD submission.

I loved it, very polished, nice art, sweet soundtrack. Only thing to improve I can think of is the (too lengthy) process of restarting after you died. Because I died quite often.

When there is grappling there is fun, and it was a lot of fun!

Good game, it took me some time to figure out how to play, but when I did, the game was fun.

I didn't know how to use the grapple hook. (you really should indicate that the mouse also plays a role here, crosshair maybe?) After I learned how to use the grappling hook, I hit 212 souls. Nice graphics and totally awesome music I can't rate. (would give a 5!) Would gladly see a full game based on this grappling hook concept.

Really interesting title, the art and music are awesome. The controls could use a bit more work, unless the goal was to force the players to grapple their keyboards as a practice to get better, in that case, you succeeded :) With a little bit of post LD work, I can see this entry as a competition game for people, to see who goes fastest and who goes farther :D

Controls are pretty bad, the game commands me to press space, but that just makes me jump into lava. I later learned that i can use the grappling hook, but it handled awkwardly, and was difficult to control. Music, sound and level design are good though!

I took a while to understand the controls, but then it was great. Good job!

I really like the graphics and the music! The controls should be included in the game more specifically, at the beginning I just jumped into the Lava, not knowing that I can use the Hook with both W and Space. Once I got it down, it was pretty fun and challenging. Some obstacles or special pickups could make the basic gameplay a lot more interesting with minimal investment.

It took a few tries to completely understand how the game works, but after figuring out it was enjoyable, it reminded me of Worms Reloaded when I crossed the entire map with the ninja rope 😁
