Introduction: A quaint little game, about life in the great open spaces of some random yard somewhere in the world.

You play as a lovely little mosquito, who's only goal in life is to see his own kind succeed where others of his kind have failed. Even to the point of laying his own life on the line.

Word came down the great... mosquito vine, that enemy factions of mosquitos wanted the unique RNA that your Spawning Pool possessed. Incensed, enraged, engorged on the blood of lessers - these mosquitos raid your Spawning Pool!

DEFEND YOURSELF, AND IN DOING SO, DEFEND YOUR BLOOD LEGACY!!!

Instructions: This game is an Isometric Assisted Tower Defense game, containing building, shooting, and upgrade elements. Building purchases, and upgrade cost your LIFE, which is the LIFE of your Spawning Pool :). After each boss, you are given the option to spend "RNA" that you have collected to make a persistent and permanent upgrade - these lasts over playthroughs, and forever.

Movement: * WASD = Directional Input. * Mouse = Look Direction & Upgrade/Object Interaction.

Actions: * Mouse 1 (Left Click) = Shoot / Place Defense. * B Key = Enter/Exit Build Mode, Build mode also display upgrade panels where applicable. * 1/2/3 Keys = Depending on game mode (building/nonbuilding) this will select Defense Types, or Offense Types.

Build Mode: When in build mode, your mouse will turn to a transparent guide, if this guide is tinted green, it denotes the ability to place the currently selected defense. If red, then you cannot place the defense.

Finally, make sure to have fun, and protect the Spawning Pool :)!

BE WARNED, YOU CAN ACCIDENTALLY (;)) OVERSPEND YOUR HEALTH :P

Notes from the developer: There are bugs in this game, many bugs in fact. Little bugs, medium, and big. You also play as one. I mean Mosquitos. :P.

But, there are a few things I am aware of; * If you have the build mode on, and hover over an upgrade - jumping will buy it. This can lead to instadeath from speedbuying - so be careful :).

I'm in love with low poly. I found it a bit challenging, but I've never been good at shooting games! The buzz noise was a bit annoying after a little time, so thumbs up for the volume set option!

Awesome fun game! I think maybe the weapons could be balanced a bit more cause i found the poison bomb was the best for all situations. None of the others were reliable enough for me. Great job!

@xsoodx Thanks for playing :)! I'm not sure on the rules of doing balance changes after the Game Jam is done. I was in the final moments of balancing everything when the jam ended :P!
I have taken on board though; that I need to dedicate more time to testing and balancing in the next jam I participate in! :D. This was so much fun, first ever game jam, first ever full game ^^.

Excellent work on the models and animations. I can appreciate the amount of work it takes to do something like that as a sole developer. My only criticism is that I didn't care for the fact that the enemies moved faster instead of slower after being hit. I'd prefer it be the other way around. Overall though, this is a great entry.

Nice game and solid jam entry, perhaps you could make the enemies a bit weaker or slower, right now it's very hard. Also, an option to force the start of a wave would be nice. Nice entry overall, congrats to the devs

Fun little tower defense game. The little sentries were quite effective but the weapons of the main character felt a bit weak except the bomb one. Love the style and the title screen had me chuckling away at the silly mosquitoes walking about. I like the concept of sacrificing health to build towers. I mostly stayed low health and let my boys do the work.

Great work on your first game!

I agree with most of the sentiments here, it's possibly a bit too hard, but otherwise a nice game. Consider adding some hit feedback (like flashes, particles, impact sounds) to give your weapons a bit more juiciness.

Really nice game! Good art and gameplay! I had a very good time!
But it would be so much easier to play and I think it would get a better rating and more people would play it if you could play the game directly in the browser. With Unity you can simply change your game in the build settings to WEP-GL and upload it to e. g. itch. io or simmer. io.

Ha, fellow tower defense game! And also full of bugs. I like your take on the subject. After a moment of snowballing, my towers were unstoppable, but balancing a tower defense game is really hard, so I have no problem with it.

I'm not sure about RNA mechanic. It is interesting, but it makes the game easier on the second playthrough. For these type of games, in my opinion, is better to take away some of the player's resources for harder snowballing.

Yesss Tower Defense, love seeing these games. Actually was really cool to see the 360 degree defense idea instead of just lanes. Game play seemed pretty solid, as you said few bugs here and there which made it a bit quirky but I liked it. Keep up the great work!

Im unsure about three weapon types. I had big problem to aim and hit with 1 and 3 so i used only explosive one same for towers. After realizing that game become quite easy.
I like legacy concept, but it makes game further easier

Very nice! I'm usually terrible at tower defense stuff since I just like to floor every available space with a unit and never know when to upgrade. Although many have incorporated blood as currency in their games, I really enjoyed how you implemented into yours. It tides well with the story and it makes sense because your are a mosquito and it just fits. :)

This is wonderfully executed and I really enjoyed it. Nicely done
