You are a new employee at a shipping company. The robot that usually tapes up the packages is out sick, so you've been tasked with manually sealing and stomping- er, delivering the mail. Try not to get squashed.
I'll let you figure out the rules yourself. Good luck!
Controls: A and D to WALK. K to STOMP. L to JUMP. The controls may feel weird at first. You will get used to them!

I'm not very good at it though...
This is really easy to pick up and play and seems easy to win until you get greedy...
I liked this. It's cute and feels quite polished. There's even a special effect for when you die (the room goes dark except for a spotlight pointed at the player)
The game itself is great (it almost broke my fingers however).
Just in case people would love to play it more, there are 2 apps that allow you to bind Keyboard controls to GamePad:
[J2K](https://emulation-evolved.net/) (by MK2k
)
[JoyToKey](http://vision.dormantcore.net/joytokey-3-79-english-version-jtk379en-zip/) (3.7.9 by Ryo Ohkubo, do not look for updated version, it is paid and seems not maintained by the same author)
Otherwise a fun little platformer.
Only critique is that i would want another control scheme
Amazing game, really fun :)
I love how you reused te elements in many different ways.
sweet little game, the controls seem a bit odd and don't feel natural to me but other than that this is an awesome lil game. Good job!
I loved the graphic style and the combos especially, they made you want to get that rainbow 2.5k points every time!
Couldn't you get the job done by doing WASD/Arrow keys, like most games?
Other than that, the collision I sorta hate, just would make it have some leeway, and pushes you to the edge if you are just barely touching it. Love it though!
Also, when you die, you know exactly why. You might want to use WASD + some action key next time, the controls are a little hard to get into.
Pretty nice mechanics based on the theme.
Like all great entries, the gameplay is simple (not simplistic - just not confused/mushy) - it doesn't try to do too much and that gave you time to make sure it feels great to play. Love all the little notes of polish!
My high score is 8360 right now but I'm sure I can do better ;)
Ótimo jogo, rápido, com um design interessante e um controle simples. Parabéns pelo jogo. E acho que com uma música de fundo, teria uma sensação ainda melhor.
Only bad thing is awful controls. Can't play with ad lk controls =(
Good job :D
This game is a-a-a-a-awesome! Love everything on it. I'd to spend some time to get the wall climb and jump timings, and after that, man, 5 box combos are impressive. And when came the skull box was a surprise (just tought that the game would end when hits the red mark). Best game that i played for this LdJam by now.
Update: High: 32050 and just ONCE i was able to smash box in 2 different rows at the same time. Tried to do this again but i couldn't. :)
I don't get why simple WASD/Arrow Key Controls wouldn't have worked though.
But still, very nice game!
I would love to see a full release of this game.
Great scope for a LD game as well - feels perfectly realized, but the idea could easily be expanded as well.
Control scheme was a bit odd. I would have thrown in a couple more options just in case, like up/space.
Love the level of polish on it
Also, if possible, check out and rate my game I made with a few others. It's a card game with a twist: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/smash-smash-destroy-the-west-jangnanmon
The art and sounds are just great. I had lot o fun playing it. Very simple mechanics, but very engaging, making you challenge yourself to play it again and again. It feels very polished, so, impressive work for just 48h. I got used to the controls, but I don't think it was a good decision to impose it. Great job!
A shame I suck at this kind if game.
What engine did you use to make it?

I usually give detailed feedback and I pretty much have none :)
The graphics are fantastic, the bounce on the character is gorgeous, the sounds are spot on, the controls are tight and perfect, it's amazing, it's done :)
Perhaps the only thing I can offer is that it doesn't *quite* fit the theme so well, but heck it wasn't *the worst* theme fit I've ever seen <3
Incredible!
Just good!
(best: 21620)
You made a really good game :)
For me, it got easier once I figured out I can stomp the boxes not only after jumping on them from below, but from the top too.
Oh and that taping sound gave me the creeps lol
I just can't get any higher than that, the speed up after 20k is too much for me.
This's the most fun I've had with an entry so far and it just feels so polished.
My only gripe is that even 4 blocks can spawn in the same column after each other, which feels at least a bit unfair.
34 735 btw, who wants to give it a try?
This game doesn't work in Chrome. However, it works like a charm in Firefox and it's perfect.

I see some great highscores here. However, not good enough @Yngvarr :smiling_imp:

I did find the controls awkward, I think just having standard wasd (a to jump and s to slam) or arrow keys would be more intuitive.
Once I figured out the controls and got into the rhythm it was pretty enjoyable, the screenshake effects and sound effects really add a lot of mmph and make it feel great. But I feel like it doesn't really reward risks enough: playing safe and destroying every crate as soon as it lands will end up netting way more points than trying to let a stack get three high, since if a fourth block happens to land on it you can't jump high enough to get on top and just have to hope another block lands nearby and not on top.
Overall I think this is a strong entry with a lot of polish. The variety of block types add a lot of dynamic to this and I could see this becoming a a successful mobile game possibly.
My high score was 24910.
I got used the controls very quickly. One nice touch is how we get more points when stomping a higher pile: this gives more experienced players something interesting to do in the beginning when the boxes don't fall that quickly. It's easy to make a game adjust its difficult by making it get faster and faster until it reaches the player's skill level, but making that slower section more difficult by convincing the player to make it harder for themselves is a much more impressive feat! The fact that sealing the boxes first is encouraged (required for combos, allows you to clear a column more quickly) but not necessary is another way in which you accomplish the same effect. Bravo!
I only have one improvement to recommend: maybe add some special case logic to avoid immediately adding extra crates to the columns which have only just become full? Because of the combo system, there is an incentive to let the columns get full on purpose and to clear them at the last minute, but it's not possible to do so when the box which makes them full is immediately followed by another box. Because of the incentive, when this happens it doesn't feel like it's my fault for letting the column get so out of hand, it just feels unfair.
@yngvarr, it works fine for me in Chrome 63.0.3239.84
One of the best I've seen so far!
The concept is great and the execution flawless. I love your choice of sound effects, they tie everything together perfectly, especially that "smack" sound when you mark a box. Did you record that yourself, because the other sounds seem generated except of this one?
The music is simple and unintrusive so it provides a good auditive backdrop while letting the game speak for itself.
Gameplay-wise it took me a while to figure out you were able to stomp so my first round consisted of avoiding boxes until the skull boxes accumulated to the top. At this point the games gets stuck in an endless loop because it repeatedly creates skull boxes on that column. After I figured out how to properly play the game that wasn't a problem anymore though.
Overall the game offers the perfect balance between trying to get combos and trying not to play too risky to avoid getting squashed.
Flawless balancing and execution. No major criticism. Definitely a keeper.
*Edit:* Maybe a tiny thing, although that could be by design: I think the player would have more control over the game if you allowed to break the stomp chain because if a new block arrives at the current stomping column, the player has no chance to escape and this is an element of pure luck/risk and the rest of the game is firmly based on skill/risk.
Not sure if it was intentional or not, but L=Jump and K=Stomp is sort of backwards of the ideal selection since you have to go backwards to the previous key to stomp.
Other than thta the game is very fun
But for a jam, great effort, good use of theme, very good "jamsize" game, nice graphics, style, little tweening effects etc.
