The game was pretty good, the sound effects and music was really good in making it all feel more depressing and good job on creating the planets, the last ones looked really disturbing.

Nice little game! I was scrolling the LD page and recognised your art from your youtube video's. The art is stunning and the sounds make you feel for the planet, well done. I didn't find a way to lose the game though, do you just keep going untill the entire planet is filled with the best buildings?

Great game, there's an element of mystery which makes you wonder what will happen so you end up destroying the planet. Very reflective. The audio is weird but very fitting. The art was amazing.

Ha! Decided to find your game basing on the knowledge of your art style... and here we are! Anyways, a giant piece of whole-some bread. Well done, the art, the sounds and the motive as well. The ending was masterfully delivered. BTW I am waiting for some backstage video :) And thanks for inspiring me to take part in this edition of LD! Eric

What a wonderful game! Your art is even better than usual, and the animations are lovely. I love you interpretation of the theme and the message it’s sending.Very gore and disturbing too in the end. A game I will share with my friends!

This looks awesome! really fun game and make for a nice theme interpretation. I did find the canvas size on itch.io a bit too big though, it makes it hard to fit the game nicely on my screen when playing it.

Overall, amazing work!

*edit: * The screen size button helps, but the smaller size makes the game screen smaller, but sticks to the top-left corner of the canvas, instead of resizing the actual canvas.

Very nice artwork and creepy music. Actually got my heart racing a bit towards the end. I actually love doing circular things, but it's difficult for me to make something really good with them. I usually just do it for experimentation. I look forward to seeing how you implimented it.

Woah! That is a really nice game!
I follow your youtube channel and your videos taught me and it helped a lot with some aspect of my entry (like the Health system!)

I absolutely loved the art and the clever idea.
Thanks for making this little gem Noa!
And if you want, check my entry too, I really need your feedbacks to improve myself.

I think you used both the "Running out of space" and the "Dying Planet" theme, right?
And the end screen is awesome!

I like it, it's very art heavy and i like that. The message might be a little bit too "in your face" for my liking and the game is a little simple but i still enjoyed seeing the planet decay (evil me) the only problem with this game (in my opinion) is that there is no real challenge for the player, it's mostly just waiting to build another building. (this might be what you meant to do but meh). Still, i enjoyed it.

Wow, the way everything squished and bobbed and jiggled really made this game feel ALIVE, and pushed the already-good art and sound up to an even higher level! Nice work.

It's very simple mechanically. At first this threw me, because I was seeking to understand the different behaviors of the different types of buildings, as if it were a strategy game. This was fine, and in fact kind of pleasant... I enjoyed that the game snuck up on me with an unexpected turn. At first I was like wait, didn't the picture just change? Then the sound changed character a bit. The gradual descent into a dark place was very well done.

After seeing how it was going, I tried to reverse course and brought it back to a happy place, and then changed direction again and plunged it to the max until it all broke.

You really captured a ton of experience out of such a simple idea, well done.

I am so glad I participated in this event. Actually you made me go for it, since I watched most of your YT post Ludum Dare's. First of all thank you for that, it was a great experience participating. As for the feedback on your game, I think you just did an awesome job!

I felt so bad playing this game... - which in this case obscure enough is a great thing. You really managed to deliver the mood with art and sound. As always I just enjoy looking at your art! Since I discovered your YT I fell in love with your own 2D style. In addition the changing sound and all the little details like helicopters appearing, little particle effects on buildings and so on helped pushing the mood further.
This is a great entry! Really nicely done, greetings from Germany.

Man, this is really nice, you are always an inspiration. Though I had an issue with the last building... I had to click a few times on it before it was picked up. The. Art. Is. Amazing! Pretty much all of it is amazing to be honest. I had a lot of fun decorating the planet only to slowly start realizing what I was actually doing to it. The audio started to creep me out as I got further into it and I thought that was a nice touch, reflecting the state of the planet not only with the visuals. This is definitely a winner, great job!

Cool game ! As usual i like your art style. The musics and sounds are pretty cool, maybe a bit repetitive sometimes but it's ok for a game made in 48 hours ! I liked how the planet evolved through the game, I was not excepting this.

Oh, and i like how you interpreted the theme ! That's a good idea !!!

The graphics are incredible, really love the style. Gameplay wise, it is a nice idle game, very well designed. Only thing I didn't like to be honest was the music, it started to get annoying after a while, while the sound effects were great added a lot to the atmosphere.

It looks like fun through the screen you share but once you play it quickly loses it's interest. The drawings are cartoony and fun, some ui button have some misplaced trigger, and you should consider letting the player put more than 1 building each time he clicks, so that we don't have to move the mouse that much.
Great game !

The best thing about this game is that it is very VERY polished. The idea is simple (which doesn't mean it's bad though :p), the gameplay is simple, but all the little details, the art, the atmosphere... well done Noa :)

14. Aug 2018 · 16:45 UTC
This is a very nicely polished game. The art is spot on and beautiful. The sound effects are good. Your game feel is excellent with all the juice you added. It does feel a bit more like a statement than a game. Perhaps adding a way to counter-act the negative affects on the planet, such as solar panels or whatever would make it a more interesting game. Overall, you did a good job with this one.

14. Aug 2018 · 16:54 UTC
That was cool :D I was just hoping for some goal to achieve, like to balance the health of the people against the power and money generated by the industrial buildings. The 'gaminess' is quite weak, but the concept is solid. I had fun just plonking down buildings. Graphics and sounds were a total delight.

Excellent use of the theme to make a statement. The graphics were lovely and I really enjoyed how the personified planet gradually changed from happy to sick. The art is amazing and the sound effects made with the mouth are a nice touch too. I only felt that, as a game, it doesn't have much of a objective, since the death of the planet is inevitable and the only way to save the planet is by doing nothing, which is boring :p

I've seen a lot of psychological thrillers and horror movies of all types but nothing has ever disturbed me like this game did. Between the art, the music and the sound effects you have created a masterpiece of shock and awe along with also telling a very powerful message. I, for one, applaud you. This is an amazing entry and the most unique game I've ever played. I don't normally hand out 5/5's but when I do its for games that, hands down, deserve it! Congrats on completing your game!

Very interesting. The music was a bit repetitive, but I loved all the sound effects - especially the electric tower's buzzing - and the music definitely set the mood well. Graphics were amazing, and I loved how everything was interactive. Just by the way - despite the right-most tower saying it costs 7500, it actually costs 10000 - though that's a pretty small thing. Very good entry overall :)

Great game !!! A reality described in a really easy and understandable way, graphics are truely excellent :heart_exclamation:, sound effects are really really good ! I'm just not really fond of the first music, would have liked something more joyful, but after the first variation the musics are becoming really meaningfull !!!!

Only thing missing as a game maybe is a goal, because there is actually no objective other than killing this pour planet, and you are sure that you will manage to do it :grimacing:

15. Aug 2018 · 13:30 UTC
The sound effects were really good. But all audio was way too quiet. The graphics were also very nice.

I was missing some goal in the game. There is no real incentive for the player to build anything and there does not seem to be a way to "win" the game or even make progress. It's just you build something and then the planet looks a bit worse, but why should you build anything at all?

Simple, yet fun. Great representation of the theme that parlays a wonderful message about how we treat our planet. Love your art style - it is truly something unique. I would have loved to see a little strategy and perhaps a win condition - but the game has a point and the way it is designed illustrates that really, really well.

Great job!

The graphics in this game is really outstanding.
The sounds are also very good.
The look and feel works very well.
The only thing that I feel could use some work it the game play. It feels like there is no real objective. I do understand that one weekend is really short and I honestly must say what you have done is really amazing.

Good job.

Nice game! It is really impacting. The only thing that bother me a bit was that i found the initial melodies a bit irritating (very short loops i think?). The art, the use of the theme and the game feel are really good. Good work.

I really like it, it's very polished, specially for a compo game made by one person. Deeply disturbing, but we are going down that path anyway. I don't think this game is fun, and I don't think it's supposed to be.

What's the goal of the game? I like art and design, but it didn't feel like a game because you don't have a goal to achieve.

Great entry. I absolutely loved the art style and all the interactions build into each character/building. Really impressive.

I think the aim of the game felt a bit counter intuitive with the art style, you kill the planet to win? having different ways to win could have been nice.

Game play was simple, i think if there was some kind of early game where you could clicking on things that spawn on the map to speed up gaining resources would make the early game more enjoyable (eg plants vs zombies sun drops around on the map you can click on).

Great atmosphere and humor, really fun style and could see this expanded upon.
Excellent entry and really impressive.

Cool aesthetics although the music gets repetitive real fast. I didn't get the objective of the game but it was quite fun to play, with lot of little feedbacks. Ergonomy could be improved though, as I didn't find how to cancel or change the selection of a building.
Nice little entry!

The visuals in this game are great! The music felt a little repetitive after a certain point, but other than that the audio is pretty good. I felt more like the amount of space was limited, and not necessarily like I was running out of room, if that makes sense. So, I feel like the theme could've been implemented in a more effective way. The message in this game was interesting, to say the least. Overall, this game was a very interesting experience and it was really well made!

The music at the beginning is quite weird, and I don't understand why the score system is "sun". It would have make more sense if it would have been "money", because you getting more "sun" by destroying the plants is paradoxal.

Now that the "bad part" is gone, It is a very good idea with very good graphics the story that is behind is touching and the ammount of details is great.

Thank you for this game, I see your video since (almost) the beginning to improve my developping skills, I would love if you could test my game !

The graphics, the style are just amazing! Having a soundtrack and sound effects are nice, but the music is kinda weird some time. If the game is more challenging with more feature and mechanic, it would feel more polished. Then again, great job on the game, it's very good for a jam.

graphics obviously incredible, audio could use a little TLC but you're clearly primarily an artist so that's totally fine. would have liked to see a tiny bit more depth/clicker style mechanics but overall theme and mood are very strong

Nice game! I loved the polished art work. I also liked how a new person/vehicle was spawned with each building. It needs some sort of challenge. Perhaps some sort of resource balance or minimum needs/energy level to keep the people alive. Still a big fan tho.

Interesting experience. I like the aesthetic of the game, kind of McMillen style. Not sur of what i was doing (maybe a little bit like humanity) but it bother me to destroy the earth for no reason, i would loved to understand why i had to pay more for a building than an other. I find the sound hard to listen to long but it could be what you wanted. Still it's a good fit with the theme and a message that i'm sensible to.

The game looks amazing. I just there would have been of a point/strategy to placing buildings. Mechanically it all seemed to work really well and the animation and sound was on point. I did feel a bit depressed and sad for the planet, maybe that is what you were going for. Overall I liked it.

Interesting game. Top notch artwork and sound, but I felt like it was a little lacking in terms of mechanics- placing things, waiting for enough money to buy the next thing and so on wasn't particularly fun or rewarding, but I appreciated the representation of climate change, and towards the end it kinda hurt me to keep going. It's easy to be critical of one of the more popular compo games, of course it's very well done :)

A simple but effective narritive game. I loved the Binding of Isaac styled art and the music was a little offputting at first (sounded a bit too detuned and jerky for a cheery tune), but maybe that was the point to suggest from the start that things will end badly. The sound effects were great, especially the cries of pain coming from the planet which gradually became louder and louder. It kept me intrigued to see it through to the end despite the minimal gameplay. I also love the idea of the title as what appears on the surface to be the evolution of your society is actually causing horrible effects to the planet without any of the people realizing. I would only suggest making the planet's death gorier or maybe a bit more disturbing to make it just the more impactful when it finally happens. Other than that, great narrative entry!

A simple and enjoyable mechanic. What I liked the most was the concept of the game, the message you convey with it. It is a good approach to the jam's theme. I didn't like the music and sound effects, but the art is fine (I like your style).

The graphics are very well done, however the game play is lacking in my opinion. There isn't any strategy and realistically, not very many choices to make that have any impact on the game. An excellent way to raise awareness of respect for nature! I loved the cartoon graphic style and very well staged, the immersion by all the visual details, animations and special effects. As desired, I turned the planet into a burning hellscape!
Excellent graphics, which reminded me of Binding of Isaac. I liked the idea, though I kinda wish there was more of a challenge or puzzle to it. It was pretty easy to see where it was going as soon as the planet started to look a little sick. :)

One weird thing for me was that although I was able to select a resolution a the start, no matter how big I made my browser, the canvas didn't actually fit in its containers, and I had scrollbars that would only let me see 95% of the game or so.

Fantastic graphics! Does this game have a goal? Am I supposed to kill a planet or keep it green? Both objectives are so easy to achieve, so, not sure if it's really a game, to me it looked more like an educational experience. Did I miss something? Anyway, it's a very solid entry.

What is the goal of the game?

I thought when I built the highest building that I'd get an achievement or game end screen.

From the other screenshots here, it looks like the goal is to destroy the planet, is that accurate?

I declare myself the winner, I'm rich and the planet is happy:

Absolutely stunning visuals, and generally an amazing game. Only thing I'd have liked to see is a tooltip explaining what the different buildings do. Also, there isn't really any... gameplay. Well, there is, but I feel like there isn't really any strategy involved. What if you had a certain number of people on the planet, but the population increases of time and you have to fill the planet with buildings and energy resources to accomodate for the new citizens. Coal and other polluting energy resources give a lot of energy for its cost, but if you use too many of them you destroy the planet. Etc etc. That would be more of an actual game in my opinion.

Anyway, I'm obviously just nitpicking and throwing ideas out there. The game is beautiful and probably the best I've played this Ludum Dare. Good job! :)
