Edit: That Red Faced Earth is enough to scare me XD
Nice Game! :D
###### THAT RED FACED EARTH THINGY STILL SCARED ME
Overall, amazing work!
*edit: * The screen size button helps, but the smaller size makes the game screen smaller, but sticks to the top-left corner of the canvas, instead of resizing the actual canvas.
Nice work. *Cough *Cough... Give you a thumbs up.
Meaningful and enjoyable game play.
Thank you very much!!! I really Hope you win this! you really deserve it!
Btw my game was make using your art style tricks!!! Thank you for that!
The game have beautiful art style (as expected) Is really smooth and very funny! The music is simply but good enough for the theme! :) Good Job! Keep up the good work! And Thanks!!!! One of the best ones so far!
p.s.
I am 18 as well and plan on going into gamedev. it would be so great if i could get in touch with you and ask some questions.
Very good game, perfect mood, graphics, sfx and everything was pleasant !
Good Job !
I follow your youtube channel and your videos taught me and it helped a lot with some aspect of my entry (like the Health system!)
I absolutely loved the art and the clever idea.
Thanks for making this little gem Noa!
And if you want, check my entry too, I really need your feedbacks to improve myself.
I think you used both the "Running out of space" and the "Dying Planet" theme, right?
And the end screen is awesome!

have a nice day!
Graphics: 5.0 Mood: 5.0
P.S. It would be nice if you could check the game I made for this Ludum Dare.
It's very simple mechanically. At first this threw me, because I was seeking to understand the different behaviors of the different types of buildings, as if it were a strategy game. This was fine, and in fact kind of pleasant... I enjoyed that the game snuck up on me with an unexpected turn. At first I was like wait, didn't the picture just change? Then the sound changed character a bit. The gradual descent into a dark place was very well done.
After seeing how it was going, I tried to reverse course and brought it back to a happy place, and then changed direction again and plunged it to the max until it all broke.
You really captured a ton of experience out of such a simple idea, well done.
I felt so bad playing this game... - which in this case obscure enough is a great thing. You really managed to deliver the mood with art and sound. As always I just enjoy looking at your art! Since I discovered your YT I fell in love with your own 2D style. In addition the changing sound and all the little details like helicopters appearing, little particle effects on buildings and so on helped pushing the mood further.
This is a great entry! Really nicely done, greetings from Germany.
Can tell you were really hoping for "dying planet" or "evolve" as a theme ;)
My favourite thing has to be the hover animation for the buildings. Makes you really want to click them.
The arts are gorgeous! (Especially for the lasts phases)
(the fixed resolution is a little annoying though :/)
Good job!
Thanks for posting! Very inspiring.
One of my favorites when it comes to Graphic and Sound design.
Oh god, what have I done?!

Cheers!
Oh, and i like how you interpreted the theme ! That's a good idea !!!
Great game !
The graphics are just amazing and sounds nice :)
The music is just a bit repetitive i think and it could have been better if it had more gameplay :)
Anyway good job and thank you for your tutorials on youtube !
I also tried to do a nice looking game, go try mine if you wish. Cheers !
I guess the only way to end this game is to let the earth die.....
fitting.
Well done and thanks for the game!
I've seen a lot of psychological thrillers and horror movies of all types but nothing has ever disturbed me like this game did. Between the art, the music and the sound effects you have created a masterpiece of shock and awe along with also telling a very powerful message. I, for one, applaud you. This is an amazing entry and the most unique game I've ever played. I don't normally hand out 5/5's but when I do its for games that, hands down, deserve it! Congrats on completing your game!
Great to see your entry. I am a follower of your youtube channel. You met the expectation :). Game is visually stunning. Gameplay is amazing. Only thing I think lacking is variation in gameplay. Good job on the game.
But really, great entry. I wish it were more of an involved game, but it had some fantastic mood. Pretty disturbing, and almost made me not wanna keep killing the cute little planet :(
Try our game too, maybe you'll like it)
Graphics were so cool
Only thing missing as a game maybe is a goal, because there is actually no objective other than killing this pour planet, and you are sure that you will manage to do it :grimacing:
I was missing some goal in the game. There is no real incentive for the player to build anything and there does not seem to be a way to "win" the game or even make progress. It's just you build something and then the planet looks a bit worse, but why should you build anything at all?
The graphics looked amazing and the audio was flawless. I really liked the odd music, was very fitting to the games overall feel.
The soundeffects were hillarious and spot on. It wasn't a very long game, but the value-to-time ratio was very high.
Amazing entry, well done!
As for the gameplay: You can build/upgrade buildings to build more buildings, but there is absolutely no pressure to do so ^^ ... but it's very nice to look at
Great job!
The sounds are also very good.
The look and feel works very well.
The only thing that I feel could use some work it the game play. It feels like there is no real objective. I do understand that one weekend is really short and I honestly must say what you have done is really amazing.
Good job.
I think the aim of the game felt a bit counter intuitive with the art style, you kill the planet to win? having different ways to win could have been nice.
Game play was simple, i think if there was some kind of early game where you could clicking on things that spawn on the map to speed up gaining resources would make the early game more enjoyable (eg plants vs zombies sun drops around on the map you can click on).
Great atmosphere and humor, really fun style and could see this expanded upon.
Excellent entry and really impressive.

Nice little entry!
I think the final stage is what is going to hapen with our Earth. Maybe it will not take place in our lifetime but our childrens or their childrens maybe.
Great job!
Now that the "bad part" is gone, It is a very good idea with very good graphics the story that is behind is touching and the ammount of details is great.
Thank you for this game, I see your video since (almost) the beginning to improve my developping skills, I would love if you could test my game !
The graphics, the style are just amazing! Having a soundtrack and sound effects are nice, but the music is kinda weird some time. If the game is more challenging with more feature and mechanic, it would feel more polished. Then again, great job on the game, it's very good for a jam.

otherwise the game is good nice artwork and music perfectly suiting the game background
I just think that the theme is not implemented well in the gameplay.
(ノ・∀・)ノ - BTW
We also have an HTML5 entry if you want to play it and rate it.
In the begining I didn't know what to expect but when I realized where it was going, it was fun to just to see the evolution of this little game and the ending. The game length is perfect not too long to get bored and enough to just be a little relaxing experience.
Also I really liked how everything (the subtle animations, audio adjustments etc) serves the game and you message.
overall excellent entry. Congrats!
Easily the best game I've played this Ludum Dare -- very well done!
Cool game though.
Becomes hard with time, or maybe i'm bad :)
Really nice Compo !! Great job :) Do you plan to continue this game ?
Btw, maybe you could checkout our game and leave us feedbacks to improve it :)
By the way please feel free to leave us some feedbacks on our game!
Hope that's what we will be able to do with our Earth.

Excellent graphics, which reminded me of Binding of Isaac. I liked the idea, though I kinda wish there was more of a challenge or puzzle to it. It was pretty easy to see where it was going as soon as the planet started to look a little sick. :)
One weird thing for me was that although I was able to select a resolution a the start, no matter how big I made my browser, the canvas didn't actually fit in its containers, and I had scrollbars that would only let me see 95% of the game or so.
We'd be happy, if you also play and rate our game :)

What is the goal of the game?
I thought when I built the highest building that I'd get an achievement or game end screen.
From the other screenshots here, it looks like the goal is to destroy the planet, is that accurate?
I declare myself the winner, I'm rich and the planet is happy:

Anyway, I'm obviously just nitpicking and throwing ideas out there. The game is beautiful and probably the best I've played this Ludum Dare. Good job! :)
i really like your game - or should i say "distopia simulator" ;)
Well crafted, just a minor glitch - but already covered in the comments i guess. The sounds and the face of the earth really touches me.
Well done!
I really like this beautiful game.
