Type delicious words for your customers and try to pay your debts

I know having to press the left arrow key instead of backspace can be troublesome, some browsers will close the game and take you to the previous page when backspace is pressed. I couldn't figure out how to block that during the jam, so I mapped it to a different key. The dictionary has 70k words but it's far from perfect, -ed ended words are one of its biggest flaws. I apologize for that.
Additional notes:
Theme interpretation: Typing games + cooking /restaurant games.
Sounds might take longer to load on web version.
The game was only tested on Windows.
You delete the last letter by pressing the left arrow, not backspace. Pressing backspace might take you to the previous page on some browsers.
The game uses a diccionary of 70.000 words to check your spelling.

I can't come up with the incompatible genres though. It seems like a normal, and fun, typing game.
Nice work :)
My main problem was only the theme of the jam. I did not get the "2 Incompatible Genres" out of the "typing" and "restaurant" games.
Nicely balanced and with a very nice vibe. Congrats!
P.S: I Hate you for mapping the backspace to the left key ¬¬
On some browsers pressing backspace takes you to the previous page, I couldn't figure out a way to block that so I had to remap that.
El sonido y la estética dan un mood muy bueno!
Muy buen juego!:D
It's very innovative! I do wish each level (make this word, etc) could be more challenging. Worked with no problems on Mac, but I do suggest letting the user type Backspace to delete a character since it's such an instinctual response.
I love the art too! Simple and clear.
loads super slow for me for some reason? on windows.
one bug is that if you miss and hit a numpad key itll type out "numpad 0" instead of "0" and you have to backspace it all
@toboggan Yeah, being able to check out the rules during gameplay was something I had to cut because of the limited time I had to work. Regarding it loading slow, were you using the web-version? What browser was that? How's your internet connection?
@BenPeterson Whoops! Thanks for reporting that. My laptop doesn't have a numpad and I forgot to block those keys.
@NinjaPenguinDan Yeah, the dictionary isn't the best, I have to do some research in that regard.
@Judy Kim Thank you! Yeah, I should improve the dictionary.
At first i played fast to take a overall impression.. Wooh! I completely missed the firsts notes.. So quickly end game! :D
Once i feel the experience of typing 'clicky' keys, and the final graphic art.. fell in love! I restart the game to read well.
That's is the kind of game i love. Remember me to 'Papers Please' in the game loop, and probably this jam-game is as good as it.

One criticism: I kept going for the backspace instead of the left arrow to erase, and likewise with the enter key. I guess I expected all the functionalities of a typewriter!
As a non native speaker I felt like I was iliterate at first but at the third run I was already feeling confident and remembering my vocabulary and got to beat it.
Sometimes I'm not sure why the customers didn't like my word. Probably I just forgot the order, because they were not particularly short.
There are the aforementioned issues with hotkeys, return as an option to the right arrow would be appreciated and maybe you could have let us have the backspace in the standalone versions.
I instantly thougt about Violet Evergarden when I read the description of the game. Was it a source of inspiration?
@gamepopper I didn't even think of multiple word solutions. Would be a little bit trickier to implement but it could add a lot. Thanks! :-)
@HiWarp Making the initial instructions available during the core loop was a planned feature that I ended cutting off because I run out of time. Will try your game soon ;-)
@ProdigalSon That's a really cool story. Also I just realized that I should have added an input delay to the score screen. Thanks!
@Nathalia Hohl That's a great comment, thanks! Yeah, I should have added "enter" as an alternative way to submit a word. Violet Evergarden wasn't a source of inspiration, at least I wasn't aware of it. I started watching the show a couple of weeks ago, so maybe it got stuck somewhere in my mind and came out during the jam. Funny how our brains work :-)
@Miqui Gaud Ty! :-) I attend most events in Madrid, so it's easy to find me hahaha. (during this ludum dare I was around the venue ESNE prepared for the jam).
@p-r Awww, thanks a lot!
It's very fun to think about word with different reqirements.
Alsy very funny texts. Wall made awesome game, thank you for your job!
Graphics and sounds are great! I'm not a native English speaker and i can't know some word.
Good job!
If you want you can try my game on this link:

Would love a game where you let people accept your words or not. After each day, you would have to vote for 5 random words said by other people
A great piece as a portfolio, really charming. You got my 4/5
I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.
I hope you continue with the project.

I was playing for half an hour but I couldn't reach the goal hahahhaah... haha... my restaurant will be declared bankrupt T^T
Anyway, I think the idea is pretty curious and it fits the theme, I like it. Besides, the sounds are in accordance with the keys of the typing machine.
The only feature I would improve is the controls you use to type: I think it is weird to press the arrow keys to delete or to advance (I would use the Enter and the backspace). Finally, it would be a better experience for the player if it showed the letters they are typing at the moment, but I'm not sure if it would be an improvement.
