Shoot off their lumps by pixeye

You got awaked because of system malfunction in a cryo-tube on the deck of the spaceship "Hermes" traveling from Ceres with cargo. Find out what happened and find a way to leave the ship.
I'm big fan of the System Shock, first part of Dead space and even old ps game OVERBLOOD
The idea was about making a 2d game similar to those settings + I wanted the main hero to be infected with a virus, so you seek for the cure and strange things happen to you. But it was too hard to make that in such short time.

Interaction design is really good too, such as highlighting the "R" for reload. Only nitpick I have in that regard is that I wish the containers had some sort of indicator that they refueled your ammo, since the number in the bottom just sort of goes up with no other cue.
Gameplay is neat, I didn't expect mouse-based shooting in a game like this (which is probably for the better since shooting off the lumps with a keyboard would probably be REALLY difficult).
Do you plan on pursuing this game further? The ending definitely makes it feel that way.
I did not, however, feel a great connection with the theme.
It's a great, great work anyhow. Amazing what was done in such a short timespan
Either way though, I understand you must've run out of time, but this is absolutely brilliant for such a short timeframe. Love the title and the simple, yet fun and polished mechanics. Will be coming back to finish this one for sure. Great work!
Also, not sure if bug, but enemies often spawn on my head, killing me instantly when I enter the room.
I admire your art - it is absolutely stunning. Combined with ambience, sfx and effects, it creates really immersive game.
A few things I would've tweaked - some kind of text when you loot the shelves - I only realized that I was getting ammo out of there at the end of the game; a pause in the whole game after going to another room instead of just frozen character - currently enemies are attacking you as soon as they see you, but you are frozen for 0.5-1 seconds after entering the room.
Overall - you made a really cool, but short game.
Only issue i have is that the ludum theme was not implemented, but id definetly pay for a full game like this one, reminds me of gba metroid.
Congratulations to the team!
Ótimas escolhas visuais, o pixel art está muito bonito, talvez um pouco escuro mas entendo a escolha por uma questão de ambientação. Parabéns pelo jogo.
Criminal it's so short! I thought the web version might be bugged and skipped areas, but it seems it ends right after the red key-card door. Honestly, my only complaints are how short it is and not really fitting the theme. The monsters spawning right at the door and killing you also wasn't great.
I can't wait to see what it becomes if you do continue working on it!
It's one of the strongest entries I saw yet, with a solid realisation and a surprising yet great gameplay.
Theme relation is the only thing that I felt a bit under the rest.
Good job!!
Love the graphics and all the effects, like the appearance it has of an old screen, pretty neat! And I like the shooting mechanic as well!
Too bad there wasn't too much of the theme in the gameplay, but the idea you described about the virus seems pretty nice, could have been cool to see a bit of it with a bit more of the story too ;)
Just one thing I thought that was missing, was the lack of the feedback for the player when either the magazine of the weapon was empty or when the player was hit (a bit of screenshake and VFX for that would have been nice) :)
Congrats on the entry! :)
That said I still beat the game! I loved the graphics and the ambience was great (though it could have used sound effects). Good job!
