There's a fun paradox in this one: it plays almost like turn-based time management, where the strategy involves thinking about what sequences of actions you should perform in order to solve each combat encounter you can clearly see laying ahead of you. This is so you don't have to think about them in the heat of the moment! Only being able to control one unit at a time using the mouse gives the game a "conservation of energy" requirement, where, when fighting, you need to minimize the amount of time spent selecting your units, mousing across the screen to give them a destination, dragging out special abilities, and especially decision making. That's why this is a planning game at its core. Neat combination in a complete package - fun pixel art, works well, cool music.

I like game concept, but a little off theme. Good job, dude!

The game felt really balanced to me and the controls were easy to use. Very well executed, hope you expand on this idea!

Pretty awesome game if you ask me! Works well in the scope of the jam and is really promising if development is continued afterwards. Would be really cool to see some more involved RPG elements if the game is fleshed out.

Controls could do with tightening up a bit, I had some issues with giving an adventurer a move command instead of selecting the guy I was trying to select.

Looks good, plays good, and it seems like a pretty much complete vertical slice - nicely done!

This has a lot of good mechanics that felt rather polished! With a bit more content I wouldn't even have guessed that it was a game jam project! Had a blast playing this on stream, thanks for sharing it! Hope you keep working on it in the future

Nice little game, cool concept, though I did have the game crash on me several times and had to keep starting over. The graphics and sound are decent, and the game is responsive to play. There's a good game in this somewhere, just a shame I couldn't properly experience it because of the bugs.

I love the pixel art, but a lot of what the other people said, some bugs are still super prevalent

I killed the bats and am unable to move anywhere. Maybe the game doesn't work well in Chrome. I liked the idea but as people said it is only loosely based on the theme. The Jump Attack also seemed really powerful. I bet if I could have played the whole game I would have liked it more.

I like the artstyle, and overall it is a quite nice game. But it's not really challenging; I could clear the game using only the special powers, always waiting for the cooldown befor moving forward since the enemies weren't that aggressive.

Oh and you might want to know that the game crashes if the player click on an enemy that's already being attacked.

Hey all! Thanks for the comments and critiques! I've uploaded a new build of the game that should hopefully fix the crash issues people were seeing.

Hey, too bad there is only one level, your game is great!
I would suggest you to nerf the Jump attack as it is a bit overpowered.
Great game nonetheless.

Really nice pixel art, and game is pretty fun! I kind of cheated my way through the final boss - I let the boss chase one of the characters around while the other characters hit him. Seems like a bug in the boss behavior - should probably at some point start fighting with one of the other characters.

In any case, the one level was really nice, would have kept playing if there was more content :)
