Zombie's Revenge by Jake Cope

[raw]
made by Jake Cope for LD 40 (COMPO)

Hey! This is Zombie's Revenge! It is a top down shooter with the little twist of the more hearts you steal from the zombies, the more they want to eat your brains! Have fun and I hope you enjoy this little game I made for my second Ludum Dare. It is all written in Javascript along with custom artwork, sound effects, and music. Thanks for checking it out!

Nice! The controls are really smooth (although trying to play it with a trackpoint was a mistake).

Simple yet interesting! Solid base for expansion.

This was good fun, but the difficulty ramped up very quickly. Very much like the mechanic or heart stealing though.

Plays really nice and it's fun. I like the background music (though it doesnt loop perfectly).

Cool game! A bit lacking but nonetheless a simple and to the point game. Though making the speed of the player increase did make the player hard to control.

Its nice to see some javascript games. Pure Javascript is also my method of choice.

I really like how you incorporated a quick controls tutorial and forced me to read it.

The Zombies look too perfectly circular they keep looking like watermelon or bowling balls.

I like the variety in powerup drops.
It would be helpful if there was an indicator for when the shotgun ends especially so I know whether its based on time or on shots.

Made it to round 8!

Was totally thinking you did a great job of picking a concept and running with it. Great little modern take on the classic "Smash TV" type of game. I was really happy when the upgrades like spread shot and faster running showed up.

Good music but the loop is a little too short. Enjoyable game. Maybe too difficult for me I am stuck at round 4/6 for me

I like the idea you implemented here. The music sounds fantastic and I can almost create a beat w/ the weapon firing on top of the music! I would love to see the colors stand out just a bit more. The brown character on top of brown background makes it a little tricky for me to see everything since everything looks so small. As with others, I agree that the difficulty ramps up a lot on level 4 and can't get past 5 or 6 often.

Very basic concept, but executed really well! Character control feels good and weapon upgrades make shooting easier when things get chaotic.

Difficulty curve is a bit steep. I coasted on the first few levels and then found myself completely overwhelmed on the next level. If I was to give any suggestion, I'd recommend that you increase the initial player health to start. Really great work overall! Enjoyed playing it.
