Yggdrasil- The Point and Click Kill Everything by Jajo

[raw]
made by Jajo for LD 41 (COMPO)

Start Screen.png Well, I got it done...

I challenged myself to focus on art and sound this compo, which is why the game is noticeably lacking in gameplay. Overall, it didn't turn out too bad, right?

Controls: Move: A&D / Left&Right Zoom: Scroll Wheel

Have fun and best of luck to everyone :)

Weird little game thing... I like the idea of making things happen in the environment, reminds me of pac-man adventure.

I like the idea but I do not like how you did it. Probably something better could be done.

If you want to try it, I have also finished my Jam entry, check it out :> https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/scarry

First, some bugs:

- When I play after having won before, the progress stays at 100% and I get the win screen after three seconds
- There are seems between the images when you move and zoom the camera

It is a game jam so some bugs are OK :-)

I would have liked to know how to play the game without reading the instructions here on the page, an in-game tutorial or at least instructions are always better than some external text file.

I get the theme idea that you wanted to make a point'n'click with something where you destruct things. But in the end you just created a point'n'click game, I think. Looking at the old classics, there you click something and then a chain of events occur as a consequence, just like in your game. Also death and destructions have always been a part of old point'n'click games, the Sierra ones especially, but we also remember the hamster in the microwave.

I really loved the music, it fits the graphics very well, like a children's book of a forest. The animations are very nice, except that I suspect you did not create the squirrel from scratch, did you?

Overall, buggy but cute, great job!

It's a cute clicker where you kill stuff which is strange in itself so I think it fits the theme pretty nicely. Love the squirrel at the end.

For some reason I get victory message just by clicking somewhere on the second playthrough. There are few things that aren't great, but there's also one that is just right, it's audio. It'd be nice if it was possible to loose, or something else to spice things up.

That was a pretty fun combination of puzzle hunting clicker and "kill everything" :)

I like the genre combo, although I wish it was a tad longer. Giant squirrel appearance was fun, haha. :) Nice little game, good job!

Nice little game right there!
Not the best graphic or implementation, but the idea is very theme-fitting.

Your game looks and sounds nice. A little bit more gameplay would be cool, though :)

That was a nice clicking adventure! As people already said, on second playthrough it says 100% complete from the start. Audio is very good and the squirrel is uuuh great! Please don't let it hurt me!
