This is my take on the theme "The more [to remember] you have, the worse it is".

It is a mix of "Simon says" and a basic platformer. You get a sequence of colored buttons to press. The sign that tells you the sequence is found usually far away on purpose so you will more likely try to remember the sequence instead of going back to the sign again and again. So the game actually helps to train your brain. Awesome :)

Minimum recommended resolution is 1024px by 768px. The game is controlled with the keyboard (controls are shown in-game). Pro tip: You can also hit "SHIFT", "E" or "ENTER" to close dialogs. Also "0" will toggle background music on/off.

Have fun everyone and good luck for your entry :)

Unfortunately building for WebGL gives me horrible quality and some code that isn't running properly. So this time there will only be the download versions for Mac and PC.

Update: I found a workaround for the bug in Unity that made my game unplayable in webGL. So there's a web version as well now. Also I fixed the bug mentioned by @Raziyya. Thanks! I changed the event type to "Jam" as I used graphics and animations that were not made during the event.

Top marks for the concept and the music is really nice, but are you aware that you can't progress past the second level? Clicking the next level button does nothing.

Also I recognise the art assets you have used. As these are not your own you I believe you should be entering the jam and not the compo. You should also opt out of being rated on graphics.

excellent mechanic and level design, but it turned boring for me after a few levels

You should randomize colors and sequences so people have to read the sign again if they fail. The concept was simple but still interesting to play, it also perfectly fit the theme.

Nice concept. Would be great if there were enemies or similar to make the game more challenging and interesting after a few levels. :)

Interesting game mechanics! I would do faster jumping, feels a little bit slow. Nice entry though!

It's a simple game but fits the theme. The music is pretty chill, i think the game has the right mood but needs more content - it feels a little hollow, as the levels get too big after the 2nd one. I think if the levels were smaller but there was something else to challenge the player it'd feel much better.

Nice idea and mechanic, you only need to fix the collision box of the player, and made game a bit fast-paced, or give him a jetpack or something like that.

I'm a huge fan of Simon games, I actually made a java applet Simon clone as my first game ever! It's very rare to see variants of a memory game and so I really like where you went with this entry. This is the closest thing I can think of: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Egb0iTLfjM8

That's not the hardest example per se, but the concept's still pretty cool where you're trying to retain some info in your head, and if you keep running into things it gets harder and harder to keep that info correct. Great potential!

Good job creating a game! I was going to say I really liked the art and music.. Well, anyhow, everything felt pretty solid, no major bugs. However, I noticed you could really get some air by jumping while on top of ramps. As others have said, some level variety would really boost the feel of the game, but it certainly had a great vibe.

It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the signs in the game, because I thought they were an interesting aspect. Since they are often placed at the end of a long hike through the level you have already walked past most of the buttons, meaning that you have some understanding of which buttons are placed where. I find it interesting to first search a level without knowing what to do and then receiving some information that suddenly puts everything in a context. Hope that you'll continue to think about the idea and develop it further! Good work! :tada:

I haven't seen a idea like this so far, well done!

Cool memory game. I think a frequent art style throughout the game would really contribute to the mood.

Great job on the built-in tutorial. I think it brings a lot to the game without relying on discoverability. The character control feels good overall, but I wasn't expecting to catch air after running up a ramp. You can also use ramps to jump _really_ high. Animations on the character look & feel tight.

I think the experience could be improved if the buttons "reset" on failure instead of having the entire level reload. Would also keep me from having to avoid all the buttons in fear I'll tap on one and reset the level.

Having the instructions at the beginning of each level is a small annoyance.

Graphics are great, framerate is stable, overall solid. Great work!
