[LD41] Antibody by Horow

[raw]
made by Horow for LD 41 (COMPO)

Antibody is a game which combine management game and top view shooter.

A tutorial is available at the launch of the game.

You have access to 2 views, one where you need to kill enemies in a shooter gameplay and the other, when you press TAB where you can buy and spread units (seen as "antibody") into 4 part of your body, each one with its own bonus.

Put everything in our arms and you will fire a lot faster ; in your legs you will run fast, etc.

Sorry for the big part of the game's text not in english, hope it will be understable even like that !

PS : Images availables on the link related to itch.io, it didn't show up here.

This is an interesting idea and I'd love to see it developed further. The concept of making different upgrades that you then have to juggle around to maximise your starts is cool! I got to the end of the first level and the game just ended. Have more enemies spawn in over time! Good job with the entry!

Great work!

The game overall is fun. I love the idea of micromanaging for the current situation. The music really fits.

However, the keys W and S didn't work for me. I used arrow keys instead, but that made it quite unconfortable to press space or tab.

The game not being in English isn't a big deal, but i think you should explain the different colours of antibodies in the description. I still have no idea what each of them do.

Some balancing and respawning of enemies and guns wouldn't hurt, either.

Anyway, it's still fun and challenging. Maybe i'll borrow the micromanaging mechanic into a later project of mine.

It was hard to understand how to play since the instructions are in French. The keyboard layout is also French, so the WASD keys on my keyboard don't work, I had to use the arrow keys.

It seems there may be an interesting idea behind this, unfortunately I was unable to really understand it. The enemies would all group together, and it seemed that my shots against them weren't doing anything.

I pressed tab to go the upgrade screen, but I didn't understand how it works.

Hey thanks to all the feedback ! Again sorry for the translation we've totally forgot either in the tutorial and in the controls. The game definitly need some polish as you all say, we were just in time (we have imposed to ourselves the 48h time even if it was a compo) ! Personnaly that's my first game jam and I really enjoyed it ! We are really happy with the base concept and we will certainly push it further !

I'm really glad you enjoyed it !
