Yo Ho Ho by Capitals
Want to know what it's like to be a pirate. All those gold coins, all those boats (and because of the implication...) all those nights sitting by candle light assigning your crew to different departments on the ship before planning you're route. Umm....
Fun...
However, you know what is fun! Ship vs Ship combat. You get to do that here. It's simple. You have three buttons, Fire, Flee and Flank. Fire shoots you're cannons, Flee to get away (if you're lucky), and Flank to hit the enemy harder next time you fire! Simple.
So with that, Happy Sailing!

I liked it overall and I named my fleet "the gamedev menace"
It's hard. I played several times but only won once.
I would love to have more information about possibilities % to FLEE or FLANK. No idea why I can flee or not.
Nice game overall.
Congratulations!
I do wish the combat offered some more variation. I couldn't really figure out what the better choice would be at any given moment. I assume the number of crew members at the cannons plays a part, but couldn't tell what part it was (I assume flat damage done on hit?)
All in all, I quite liked it.
On a side note, thanks for checking out our game!

Only downside I can think of is - I'm not quite sure how it fits with the theme all that well, but other than that, you had me playing for close to 20 minutes, the music and the art and all the everythings were superb. Keep up the great work! :)
The game is cool, would totally work for a mobile/tablet game since doesn't require much attention and can be played just with happy little taping. Graphics were fun, I've seen the HELP signal while playing, as well as the flags, love little details like those!
The only thing I would suggest is to make it easier since doesn't absolutely depend on how well you are playing the battles. Also, it would be nice to repair the ship whit the money you've got, even if you can't afford all of it.
Love it!
Maybe a bit of balancing could do the trick, good job anyway.
possible improvements imo: the assign crew UI looks more like an upgrade UI (which it functionally kinda is) but it seems less intuitive. Maybe something like drag and drop crew members or how KSP handles assigning crew would work. The combat seemed a bit lacking. I think a tiny part of it is that the choices were on the left, the menu of results/next button are centered or more right so you're constantly going back and forth. The turn based stuff can be cool but some people may not be crazy about the RNG events (you hit rocks, you lost one crew of everything). Overall, nice job. Quite polished given the time limit and pirates are always fun
I love how you can have differents strategies to win.
And the graphics are great too.

Likes:
- good soundtrack
- simple mechanics for the combats
- seemingly quite a bit of stuff to discover, nice!
- tutorial messages make it clear what needs to be done
Challenges:
- it was weird because the "submit" button didn't always work, so at first I didn't understand how to actually sail somewhere
- I get sunk by other ships consistently. maybe having flanking double as dodging would make things interesting
My second voyage was quickly ended with a mutiny and my treasure going overboard, and then another mutiny :(. My 3 remaining crew members had no hope...
Next (after restarting a few times when I got something horrible right off the bat), I put half my crew in Cannons, and half in Cooking, and I seemed to take *way* less damage than before, any chance Cooking actually reduces damage? I guess damage went up later, maybe I was just getting lucky and getting weak ships (though almost all of them always did 6 damage for most of my journey).
Repairing seemed to only bring me to 100 hull, even if my crew in Hull brought my total to 200 :(
Finally beat a map once =).

Fun game. As has already been said in the comments here and in the stream, it reminds me of FTL. Where it diverts a lot from FTL is the lack of control over your crew during the individual segments. I feel the game would be more interesting if you could either move the crew around during the segments (could be limited to e.g. 1 crew movement per league point), or if the segments were shorter (but there was more of them). This way it felt like success was too dependent on RNG / luck.
Cool game anyway! :)
Great job, I loved it!
