this was the first idea i had, so i did it. This game is a platformer, but instead of side-scrolling, the camera has a top-down view. Controls are basic: WASD, arrows, ZQSD to move, space to jump and E to change the difficulty while in the menu and in the difficulty platform. it only has 10 levels, but they're so hard (and in my opinion without stopping being fun) that it isn't that kinda game you finish in 2 minutes. i was going to put this for the compo, but couldn't find a way to send the source code, so i'm doing it for the jam (i don't even expect anyone other than my friends to play it anyway)
The main problems are the controls. The diagonal jumps are very buggy and almost impossible to perform. Also, the lack of interval between dying and respawning is disorienting.
But it's still a nice little game, with an interesting take on the theme. Good works overall !
Hope that helps.
it almost made me to rage quit but i anyhow managed to finish it
its so simple yet enjoyable, the controls are a bit messy but the fun over weighs that,
u can certainly add procedural generation if u want to develop it further
psssssss , *all hail potato* XD
