Drunken Soviet by Neferius
The more you drink the worse you'll feel. But that's the only way to get back health. Shoot enemies, drink vodka to regain health and eat cucumbers to make the effects of alcohol weaker.
GOAL: Go through the secret military base, get through all the doors and kill the boss at the end. There is even a maze with no walls. What can go wrong, right?
CONTROLS: - R for reload - WASD for movement - LMB to shoot - V to attack with a knife (Yes, we know, the animation of this is terrible...) - E on door to open it - hold H to show help screen - ESC to pause game and control volume

Good game. But it should have some tutorial with controls, it's a bit confusing. And crates should have less hp. It's not a good tradeoff to shoot almost half of the clip to get ... half.
Nice, Komrad, nice.
The drunk effect was epic though, and yes I had screen so blurred that I wonder how I was able to kill anything.
Keep up the good work!
love the drunk effect :D It makes the game really funny (playing at first is a bit confusing though) (:
Oh boy what an experience that was XD as a fan of the oldschool fps i really had a blast, this was so funny, but also so freaking hard when you get near max level drunk :o
I really enjoyed the game though, i liked the way ammo was sored, and the fact that you had a quick melee at all times akin to more modern fps mechanics.
no really sure what to add more, i personally didn't find that many negative points, it's a fun simple game.
well done guys :)
The mechanics are interesting, but I have the feeling that cucumbers don't entirely remove the drunk effect, or even than you can recover your drunk effect after some times...
As a FPS lover, I can confirm that the controls were smooth as I like. Graphics and musics are really entertaining ! Keep it like this ;)
Great job developer, it was a pleasure playing this game :D
lthought, it can be dropped with crates, barrels and enemies
I liked how the UI elements were part of the world. A music was hilarious.
Great game
Update : I think the game run differently on 2560x1440 because your pictures are sharper than me: the game is really pixelized when I played it.
Unfortunately unity player was causing me problems with 'sticky keys' - main character walks without me pressing anything :(
Why no web-build?
Checkout **Voxel Mob Arena** here and please leave rating!:

there is no web build because it didn't work properly
Character walks forward and left without touching keyboard.
Idea is awesome though :)
If you drink too much vodka it causes you to drink more even if you know you shouldn't!
Also there is always not enough cucumbers!
Nausia should go away with time maybe?
I love this game!
Thanks for all :D
This is my favorite game of LD40 so far, and honestly it's going to take a doozy to knock it off. Not only is the usage of the theme incredible---besides being terribly funny, it does make it real painful to heal up, and therefore makes you want to avoid getting hurt in the first place---the whole game is just long! Most Ludum Dare games are playable in 5-10 minutes; I was definitely playing this for at least 20 minutes. Really good job with the engine too--how was the experience of building a DOOM/Wolfenstein-style shooter in Unity?
Amazing work.
Also f*ck you I got through the maze on my first try lol
* The level design was really good! I had to backtrack once because I ran out of ammo but there was enough to allow me to progress further. But later in the game I had more than plenty, so ammo reservation became a non issue.
* The soundtrack and sfx were quite nice.
* The intoxication effect is really awesome, it captures the state quite well and although it doesn't provide much discomfort it did make me feel a bit dizzy after a while.
* I didn't know what the green item was until I noticed its effect late into the game.
* I loved the Wolfenstein-esque graphics, really captured that aesthetic style brilliantly well.
* There were often cases where I didn't want to drink more, it would be better to always pickup but a key to use the item.
Overall I really enjoyed the game! I absolutely love the way it interprets the theme! Well done
