Urban Planning by reuno

[raw]
made by reuno for LD 42 (COMPO)

In Urban Planner you play as a tiny dude who has to build a lot of houses.

Unfortunately the area is full of blob monsters.

Kill them all with houses to proceed to the next area!

Don't use all the space you have though. If you put too many houses in an area, you'll RUN OUT OF SPACE.

Fun little experience! I felt the art was nice and game controlled well enough.
The music was a little loud and there was some slow down in the browser version.

Aside from that, the camera swung around in a bit of an unpredictable fashion which I feel could really help.

Good job though! Thanks for submitting this!

Fantastic theme, great art and sound design, occasionally get launched miles into the air, 10/10.

ah, yeah, this is more or less what i imagined it would be like to be an urban planner.

really into that victory animation. househousehousehousehousehousehousehouse

a little difficult to tell how exactly to do a good job killing stuff, but the weird more than makes up for it.

Great graphics! Sound effects and the soundtrack contribute a lot to the mood and the style of the game. The upgrade after each wave is a nice feature. Enjoyable game.

A fun game of killing slimes with houses. My gameplay was ended by some sort of Javascript error because I clicked something wrong, but I had fun playing it.

That was funny to play, you litteraly throw houses at them. Really cool 3d model, also the animation was on point. Cool sound effects and the menu and stuff overall pretty cool.

Oh and somehow I went out of space (no puns intended)

Fun to play, however there was very rough lag whenever I started my urban planning (Throwing houses). The idea is great and it was enjoyable to play, however the lag did make the experience less enjoyable.

What I like the most in this game is how tightly packaged it is with basically everything a game is made of, and it's not just because to fill all of that, they actually come together cohesively and complement each other.

I had had while playing it, but it was still fun to play. It was refreshing to see the updates after each level, because it made completing levels feel more meaningful.

It's stylish and graphically attractive.

Good job on doing so many things in just two days AND doing them well, I hope it paid off for you because the end result is very much worth it in my eyes. :)

Sometimes it felt like damage wasn't being registered on the blobs, and the cursor often got lost in the screen.
However, the game was great! It looks absolutely stunning, and in general plays well.

Cute game! Very nice graphics - everything looks pretty polished. The controls were intuitive and I didn't have a hard time figuring out what to do without reading the rules... Really awesome game!

This might be my favorite game I've played so far. The game itself was probably the furthest thing from what I imagined when I read "Urban Planning" lol. I don't know how you came up with any of this but I love it: the little guy, the sounds the enemies make, the music, the humor. Fantastic game! :D

The guy looks great. The houses didn't seem to do much damage to the blobs, so it was hard to get very far.

Really neat game. The camera was a little weird. I felt like it didn't always show me what I wanted to see (vague, I know). It felt really good to shoot those houses, but it was difficult to tell if I was hitting the slimes or not.

I like the graphics and music, the water blobs are hard to hit but that makes it fun, specially when they hide behind things. Nice Game!

The Blobs health bar didn't go down when I hit it (a few times at least, I'm not sure).

It looks great though, very funny too! :D

This is just fantastic.
A solid tight packed fun experience. Just shooting, I mean, « building » those houses feels great.

Well done! Especially the aesthetics are well executed. I like the artstyle and the music fits in just nice. The idea of shooting houses to build them is just brilliant :D
Sometimes I had trouble with houses not registering as damage to the blob, when they clearly seemed to hit them, and the mouse was a little jittery which is why I got lost in some situations.
For two days you managed to put in a lot - Overall great job!

Love the absurdity of the house gun. Fun and great aesthetics, as always. Great job!
