FIRST!

But, seriously, this game is excellent. I love how you've combined resource conservation with spatial awareness and navigation. The reuse of space (which you've had a hand in shaping) as you constantly go back and forth trying to get to the goal with enough fuel to spare is genius. Add onto that crisp, minimalist visuals and a stellar soundtrack, and you have an amazing game on your hands. Outside of the possibility of getting trapped at the beginning with no way out other than to restart the game, I really don't have any major complaints with this one. Zetpack-99 is certainly a 5 star game in my book.

I really like the mechanic, it's pretty clever. However, I think it would work better in a smaller set of puzzles. It's interesting to see the energy and recovery mechanic applied to a long time span, but When I got to the top-left of the map with 5 energy left I effectively had to go back and do everything again. Perhaps a system whereby energy capacity is lower, but is restored to full at checkpoints? I know it takes away some of the game's uniqueness, but it would also make it an order of magnitude less frustrating.

The minimalistic graphics work well (even though you are STILL playing as the abstract notion of British currency :P), and the music was nice to start with. It started to grate after a while, especiallyw hen I had fallen down for the umpteen billionth time and had to zetpack up again, collecting all the diamonds along the way. The way the levels grow off of each other feels cool and exciting.

Overall good, just made me want to punch my monitor.

Nice game, although it's really easy to get stuck at one point and not be able to move on. I can't seem to restart from the start. The music doesn't play when you close and open back up.
I also think that you should get rid of the "mood" and "humor" categories.

Great and unique approach to the game world, I really like it. Although cleaning up charges to regain power becomes a little tedious after time. Would it be too nice to be able to automatically clean rooms you're not supposed to get into anymore? In the end I've lost because I couldn't be bothered with cleaning every little tower I've left behind and ran out of power. The fact that you sometimes have to first spend thrice the power to be able to clean it all up is not helping either.

Wonderful game, five stars for sure! I really liked the colors you chose, they really made the graphics go a long way for being so simple. The music was also very fitting for the kind of game it was. I managed to make it to the end without too much trouble but I think that was because I saw some of your blog posts and I knew to conserve my power. I think perhaps showing more directly that the player needs to conserve power so strictly might be helpful.

Awesome game dude! It is a really clever puzzle game that has a lot of thought behind it. I enjoyed figuring things out and it was fun to play. I like the art style, it is simple, but elegant and stylish. Nice music as well. It took me a bit to figure things out but that's just fun. I absolutely LOVE the trap that you made with right before you get the ability to remove your trail. That's an evil genius at work.

Here is my experience of the first 10ish minutes of your game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yvU9qg6Vy8&

You should consider making this into a full game, I think it would make a nice mobile app.

Very polished game! I love your take on the theme, also the way you marked sections as small squares within the same screen instead of new screens was very clever

This is awesome! I like the level design, and the idea when levels stay on your screen after you reach them. This game may actually go much further, I think, among all the puzzle games. Great work, I love this game! :)

Really fun game, seems to be very polished. Idea is simple, but very fun. Graphics are simple, but have really nice feel and create awesome mood in the game. Level desing is awesome. The only things that could be better is sounds, it is not bad, but can be irritating. Great Job! One of the best that I played during this Ludum Dare :)

This is a great game. Really nicely done. It's fun, clever and works well. I didn't play it a lot yet, but it seams complex with a lot of content - and that's phenomenal for a game jam game. You have managed to create a good and fun puzzle platformer with unique mechanics that just works and is a proper good game. Well done!

Very nice little game- the graphics are simplistic but work well with the music to give it a lot of charm. I really liked the flying mechanic and how it filled the entire game with puzzles. Great job!

I utterly utterly love the aesthetics of this game, serious vapourwave and early DOS game vibes, so relaxing. And the puzzles, extremely well thought out and tough, the idea you can't go through your jetpack trails really gives it a new dimension and element. Utterly love, well done, fantastic entry! <3

Great level design, the solutions are pretty tight and must've taken a lot of testing to get right. I figured you were going to make it like that so I made sure to be pretty efficient and thorough on my smoke cleanup. Great game for OCD players haha

A great puzzle game, I love the mechanic it really makes you plan ahead and I think the minimalist style works really well. But clearing blocks I found to be a bit awkward.

Awesome, great job! My only complaint is that you can fall off the world and into an infinite freefall, and that's even before you learn that you can reset with R =P

Very very clever concept, incredibly fun (although selecting the right tile when clearing paths could be a bit finicky). The music is nice and relaxing, the graphics are pure and unambiguous (which is a must for a puzzle game): the presentation is very good *because* of its simplicity.

I'm glad I could beat the game, I'd love to see how you could develop this further.

Try the Zetpack? Ha, I'll rather jump off the cliff!

Uh oh.... *It doesn't restart!*

Amazing visuals. The music fits too, but it gets annoying after a while. It seems I have no ear for low-fi chiptunes any more. (I didn't rate it down, don't you worry).

Clever level design, brilliant mechanics. I'm running out of superlatives here.

About the only issue I have, is with the controls. Clearing up :small_orange_diamond::small_orange_diamond::small_orange_diamond: after yourself is at times finicky when the auto targeting chooses the :small_orange_diamond: in front of you, not the one behind or under you. (It seems @felixmcfelix beat me to the punch)

Best of all? It is a puzzle, but it doesn't *feel* like one. Spectacular job in all!

for some reason the game is running quite fast on my computer (a lot more than what I can see from the video someone posted above) which makes it too difficult
but I wish I could play at normal speed, it looks very good

This game reminds me so much of Starseed Pilgrim! The mechanic is really nice. It was confusing whether a trail block had placed or if it would disappear after I released Z, which caused me to fall off the map a few times. Perhaps that could be indicated more clearly. Awesome game! I hope there will be more of it to come :)

Your game doesn't work with the itch.io client. Have you checked whether you have set the "Windows-compatible" flag? If you do, tag me and I'll give your game a go.
