Jelly Pop by bjorn

[raw]
made by bjorn for LD34 (JAM)
A minimal game where you control a jellyfish and pop bubbles with your tentacles. Expand and contract your body using the mouse buttons to propel yourself through the water. Pop bubbles using the tips of your tentacles, and don't let them float to the top of the screen!

All art is procedurally generated using points, lines, curves, etc. The game uses the Love2D engine and is less than 1000 lines of Lua.

The game also features controller support -- the left and right triggers may be used for movement.

Really nice game! With some more polish (e.g. cleaning up the header, etc) this could be an awesome game! I love the mechanic!

Unfortunately doesn't work at all for me (Windows 8 on a desktop, USB mouse). The button at the start registers, but then I can't seem to steer or move.

Did you by any chance have a controller or joystick plugged in? It will use that as the input device instead of the mouse if present.

Indeed I did! Very nice entry, though I wasn't swimming most elegantly.

Can the game be won? If not i would add an timer highscore.

Very innovative mechanic with the two mouse buttons. The colorscheme is also nicely choosen.
