Parking Lot Simulator by lucbarr

[raw]
made by lucbarr for LD 42 (JAM)

A barely finished parking lot simulator. Can you prove yourself as a good driver? Ever dreamed of proving to be the best GTA2-like driver in town? How long can you survive to mad customers ? How long can you keep your PirtAdvisor score high ? Give it a try!! We got into the jam 1 day shorter and made this without much of that Jam fierce you know, but we got something playable and a bit hard. Hope you have a good time trying not to deliver crashed cars to your customers :)

Solid game! I'd love to play it more except It's sometimes impossible to see the letters on the people when they come back for their cars. If not for that I'd play this for hours!

i like the lettering system on the cars. once you realize what is going on, you end up creating your own system for organization.

Really basic concept, but well executed! If the lettering on the people were larger and more distinct, this would be a flawless game.

In my opinion, instead of utilizing letters, it is better to use numbers to keep track process. Making the letters larger and more clear are also required to make it easier to play. Overall, the gameplay is great, the concept is simple but quite addictive. Congrats!

ty guys for the feedback!! We noticed the problem with the people lettering system just minutes before the jam time ( and I was particularly trying to make an interactive audio system that would get punkier as your rating dropped ), therefore we couldn't solve it in time. We thought it should be published with the bug and with many others anyway. We had so many management issues, unfortunate events and mismatches during the jam that we didn't even expect the game to be finished, and nonetheless expect people to indeed enjoy it at some expense xD. It makes me glad and excited for taking part in future jams seeing that we got some things right even against the odds, and your feedback - be it negative or positive - means A LOT. <3

i enjoyed this, i dont 100% know why... but i did lol it was fun to try and park but i didnt quite understand why there was a build up of people? or what to do after the parking lot filled up but i did have fun simply messing around with the cars and pushing them around.

My 'organization' system was basically just a pile of cars. Is it any wonder I had so much trouble finding the right cars for the right people? I wasn't really sure what the loss condition actually was, though. Good work!

The "Car physics" is really off (though wasn't expecting an accurate simulation anyway  ) but having a way to control acceleation a bit smoother and have turning angle depend on speed (slow movement, faster turning) would have helped a tad.

The labels on people coming to pick up their cars are... a tad too small. But maybe it's just my screen.

Other than this - a really fun game that keeps you on your toes... Even if this is due to cars not being too maneuverable. :smirk:
