A really nice minimalist fighting game. The graphics are really nice and the combat is surprisingly smooth for such a low resolution. Nicely done !

Love the visuals and audio. The combat feels super punchy and I like the abilities that are in it. gives it a nice twist.

Has nice old school vibe. Combat feels stiff tho.

It's a very nice game ! The graphics and aspect ratio reminded me of GameBoy Color games. The theme is well respected and integrated in this genre.
Congrats !

Damn good vibe and idea, love how you integrated a Versus gameplay in this theme

Very cool graphics and mood!
I liked that the combat is not too complicated to master, and the idea of bonuses being linked to the amount of life.
Also, animations are amazing.
It took me 3 attempts to win :)

So Juicy, i would just improve the sfx by changing the sound that each fighter emits, because once each fighter hits the other simultaneously it's hard to recognize the diffference between the duplicated sounds.

Simple and fun fighting game. Fighters are difficult to pull off but you two did it. I like the powerups and enjoyed going a few rounds against the computer. Nice work!

Didn't expect to see a fighting game! Really cool. Wish you could block though :p

@Calzep Actually, you can Block by going in the opposite direction of your opponent like in Streetfighter games (the animation is very discreet) But yeah you're right, it's so not clear that it looks like there's no block
I should have added it on the Controls panet (I didn't for some reason but I will not go into details because it's not important)
So, to avoid more confusion, I will add it into the description
Thank you for the feedback! :)

neat, lost all 3 rounds first try, then nailed the AI on the second. Wasn't clear that you could block, or what the advantage of high v low or punch v kick. Love the minimalism.

Reminds me of Mortal Combat for the original gameboy. I played that game a lot on long bus trips. The lo-fi graphics style and color palette are awesome and never get boring. The variation in backgrounds makes it even better. The AI's are super smart and it's cool that opening scene has two of them fighting against each other.

I had really even fight with AI, lost 2 times but I won in the end!

Game is pretty great, smooth gameplay, nice art and music, only problem is I don't really get how it's related to theme, but I don't care about it that much anyways.

I like the minimalist style! It reminded me of Nidhogg and of IK+ on the Amiga. One minor issue: several times, as I was desperately mashing the buttons like anyone who sucks at combat game, the final round ended and my button mashes caused to go to the next screen… and I don’t even know whether I won or not (spoiler alert: I decided that I had won).

I love the minimalist look and original choice of color. The animation when straffing while low made me giggle. Awesome that you did it on Raccoon I'm so impressed! and I won first try :)

Thanks all for your feedbacks! :)

@shubart haha, maybe we should add it as an easter egg :)

@ougrouk I'm interested in what troubles you had, is it the controls binding ? did you play with keyboard or controller?

@linheha We tried playing with controllers, it crashes the game whenever we hit a button.
Then we understood we can play on keyboard, but we couldn't easily add P2. We're maybe dumb >< but we manager to play in the end and did not understand how to combo.

We still loved art and feel of the game.

@ougrouk No you're not dumb, it's because we didn't make this clear enough! You can play with your friend only with controllers, so that will explain why you struggled to play with the keyboard :/
Thanks for your answer, and we're sorry that you couldn't play properly, we hope we will be able to fix it!

Once again really impressed what you two could make with a homemade engine ! The game is really well polished and I had fun when playing with a friend even tough I'm not that much into fighting games. The graphisms are so cute and the music fits well. Some additional feedback would be great for blocking attacks and it didn't seem natural to me to move backward to block. I also feel like jumping would have been great and it was hard to keep tracks of my lifebar while focusing on the game at the same time. Maybe putting it at the bottom of the screen would help. Great job !

Very cool aesthetic, it manages to both be minimalist but also highly polished with the backgrounds the great animations. Knowing you can block definitely changes the game from an outright spamfest (which can work if you get the speed powerup!) to something a bit more formal, so definitely agree that should be telegraphed a bit better. At the end of the day, fun!

Edit: realized my headphones weren't plugged in. The music is a bassy bop!
