Hey everyone!
I've made this game in Sunday after my WIP engine failed on me on Saturday.
I also lost the first music track when I tried to save while it was playing on Pico 8 :face_palm:
It's not as complete as I wanted but it's playable.

The rules are:

  1. Keep the ghost in the center of the screen alive
  2. Use it's life to buy an detonate bombs that will kill every enemy on the screen. Each bomb costs 1/4 of the ghost's life bar. Use it wisely.
  3. Keep an eye out for the bombs that will appear in the map when you kill enemies. This bombs will kill every enemy on the screen without charging for ghost life.
  4. Pick the speed powerup when getting to 50 kills.
  5. Destroy the enemy spawners to win the game. Make sure you use the "clock" power up for this task.

Don't give up if you find it difficult. If you use all the powerups and actions you can easily beat it without getting damage.

Made with pico 8 and the super fast framework.

Some tips (Don't read them if you want to figure it out yourself!):

~~When destroying a spawner you get a health pack that restores some health for the player and the ghost.~~
~~Since each bomb blast costs 1/4 of the ghost's health, you have 3 to use consecutively coming from a full life bar in ghost. If you combine this knowledge with the step 1 you can risk going for a spawner without getting hits on hero or ghost and then with the health pack regain a new bomb blast for future use.~~
~~At this point you should have gotten all the powerups and be killing everything in your way.~~

Great job! I love a lot of the subtle elements you included, like the 'ding' for player feedback, letting them know the freeze time power has run out.. and the health meters (the Zombie ones are great!)
The graphics are great! The char's idle animation is an excellent touch, and the zombies are adorable!
Fun and challenging! A+

Yeaheeyeyeeeee i beat it. https://www.screencast.com/t/qym62B4uwY Took me a bit to get it. It was the bombs that really made it possible. :) :D once i got one down i was finally able to gain an advantage.

It's one of the more innovative ideas I've come across so far as theyve all felt a bit "samey". Great frantic gameplay that draws you in and engages you. +1 for using Pico-8 of course! Well done!

Huh, I see you suffer from sticking with one tool forever too. XD

I see the proficiency, you sure know how to use pico-8 right. Every single bit of the game looks and sounds polished and complete. And all these meets a great game design, simple and effective. I struggle to believe it was made in one day. =)

Up to your usual standards, and still unbeatable for someone like me :)
Nice graphics and audio
A very nice way to spend fifteen minutes or so not getting anywhere and dying a lot!

Pico 8 games have their own style and charme.
And I liked your game a lot. It plays nice and everything worked good.
For such a limited time a really really good job. Well done.
Keep doing stuff. :)

Cute graphics, music is fitting but the game is too hard for me event with powerups :) I would need zombies to die after one hit, then I could maybe beat it ;) I like the mechanics which also fits the theme. Overall pretty good work for one day!
