Ghost Avenger by Rombus
Hey everyone!
I've made this game in Sunday after my WIP engine failed on me on Saturday.
I also lost the first music track when I tried to save while it was playing on Pico 8 :face_palm:
It's not as complete as I wanted but it's playable.
The rules are:
- Keep the ghost in the center of the screen alive
- Use it's life to buy an detonate bombs that will kill every enemy on the screen. Each bomb costs 1/4 of the ghost's life bar. Use it wisely.
- Keep an eye out for the bombs that will appear in the map when you kill enemies. This bombs will kill every enemy on the screen without charging for ghost life.
- Pick the speed powerup when getting to 50 kills.
- Destroy the enemy spawners to win the game. Make sure you use the "clock" power up for this task.
Don't give up if you find it difficult. If you use all the powerups and actions you can easily beat it without getting damage.
Made with pico 8 and the super fast framework.
Some tips (Don't read them if you want to figure it out yourself!):
~~When destroying a spawner you get a health pack that restores some health for the player and the ghost.~~
~~Since each bomb blast costs 1/4 of the ghost's health, you have 3 to use consecutively coming from a full life bar in ghost. If you combine this knowledge with the step 1 you can risk going for a spawner without getting hits on hero or ghost and then with the health pack regain a new bomb blast for future use.~~
~~At this point you should have gotten all the powerups and be killing everything in your way.~~

The graphics are great! The char's idle animation is an excellent touch, and the zombies are adorable!
Fun and challenging! A+
I see the proficiency, you sure know how to use pico-8 right. Every single bit of the game looks and sounds polished and complete. And all these meets a great game design, simple and effective. I struggle to believe it was made in one day. =)
Nice graphics and audio
A very nice way to spend fifteen minutes or so not getting anywhere and dying a lot!
And I liked your game a lot. It plays nice and everything worked good.
For such a limited time a really really good job. Well done.
Keep doing stuff. :)
