Bead on the moon by Hishicorne

================================ :heart_exclamation: Some words
Hi ! It's the first game I release for a game jam, and also the first non-web game I release, so I need your feedbacks to improve my skills ! What should I make better ? What should I add ? It would be nice if you do that ! :heart:
================================ :thinking: What is it ?
Who are you ? Why are you here ? You don't know it. However, you know that you don't have enough power to leave this new planet you've discovered and you'r stuck here. The only thing you can do is to serve other magical girls in order to get more power, and leave this nightmare... Or stay here forever.
================================ :point_down: How to play ?
Right click on clients to interact with them. It's as simple as that. Funny, uh ?
================================ :hugging: Basic recipes ?
In case you are stuck in the game, here are 4 basic recipes :
- :blush: Sweet meal = 1x almond milk and 2x chocolate
- :triumph: Spicy meal = 1x flour, 1x chocolate, 1x butter and 1x fruits
- :drooling_face: Sour meal = 1x flour, 1x almond milk, 5x chocolate, 1x sugar and 1x butter
- :confounded: Bitter meal = 1x flour, 1x almond milk, 5x chocolate, 1x sugar and 1x butter
Remember that although some clients ask you sweet meal or starry meal, you could also give them other kind of meal wich could also please them (but that's not sure ! It depends of their tastes - and who knows the exact tastes of everyone he just met ?)
================================ :muscle: Bug fixed since the first publication
- :rainbow: Fixed colors (somes clients had the same color as other elements (background), now you should see them correctly !)
- :point_up: Fixed ending text (there is 5 endings and not only 2 : 3 bad endings and 2 "good" endings)
- :coffee: Fixed client's tastes (giving every clients just a hot chocolate made them happy ! There were missing a condition to check if they totaly like the meal or not...)
- :eyes: Fixed client's panel (you could click on a client, talk with him, close, re-open the window and them talk with him again. Same with baking meal. Now you can't cheat by doing this, sorry !)
- :raised_hand: Fixed dialogue speed (if you don't want to read what you should read)
Also keep in mind that you must RIGHT click on clients !! Left click on them will do... Nothing.
(please note that only the webgl version is bug-fixed, other versions (windows, windows x 64, mac os x and linux) are not bug-fixed !!)
================================ :space_invader: What's next ?
(yes i've placed this emoji only because it is cute, problem ?)
As you may have understood, I'm working on a post-jam version of the game wich will be AWESOME. A full BIG game (not only a polished version). The game is going to have a new rythm : at the moment, you must act quickly. This is because for a Ludum Dare game, I thought it wasn't a good idea to make a game where you play in a game that evolve slowly. But for a full game, I can (and it will improve the gameplay a lot). To know more about the full version of Bead On The Moon, please read the tumblr ! If you want, please follow Bead On The Moon to know what's going on !

"little piece of deserter" haha. The capitalized caption for spicy is so funny. Actually all the humor is honestly golden - it's unique and quirky.
I also love the music! It's so chill and ambient. Combined with the pastel-ish color scheme, it makes for a really nice atmosphere.
My advice is to speed up the dialogue - it was too slow for me, even when pressing down - and fix the grammar. Also, maybe make the recipes more intuitive.
Great work, it made me laugh :DD
@MichaelTWG have you tried to right click on them ? I've just checked it and it works. Also make sure they don't move anymore - wich means they'r waiting. If it don't work, try playing it with google chrome maybe ?
And I also think the dialogue is too slow.
I'll definitely do something for dialogues so you can skip and make them faster.
Thank for your feedback ! :)
The most integral game I've seen so far! Thanks.
Overall, very nice game!
Still, great game, good job !
@toulou Thank you again ! I'm probably working on a post-jam version and i'm really trying to improve the gameplay - wich is, i think, not very good -. The cooking system is being modified and I like what I have in mind, it's more original and more fun. And it's going to be "simplified" (but with more parameter that you must take care of) ! Thank for your review, it's going to help me a lot.
@jogngun thank you for playing !

Thanks for being part of the stream :)
I did find the recipe making kind of tedious and a bit uncertain, but it could be easily improved with proper pacing like starting with few and adding more ingredients over time or some other kind of learning system.
@togis thank you for playing and for the link ! It was fun seing you playing it !
I feel like the theme was kind of forced into the game though. Usually it's a good idea to think: Would the game be good if I pulled out the concept related to the theme? If your answer is yes, then in most cases you didn't tie the theme in very well to the core of the game(it depends on the theme though).
Anyways, good job!
The concept around the theme is not at 100% what I wanted at the begining, because I wanted to do too much thing, I couldn't implement everything wich is a bit a deception for me. So yeah, at the verry begining the concept around the power was more interesting, but as it needed to work with a good client/monster system, I couldn't program it a 100% :( That's one of the "what went wrong" with my game, and I take your advice as a rule for my next ludum dare ! :)
Thank you again for your feedback and for having played the game. Have a good day !
The idea of fighting monsters with tastes they don't like is so, so brilliant. I don't think I've ever seen it in a game, ever.
Also amazing how you managed to code (and write) so much story exposition.
Congrats, a great entry!
I always bake "Ugly things". :')
@indiemaniac Haha yes, I've introduced some kind of a learning-system combined with a "quest" to unlock new recipes for the post-jam version :)
@cttfow thank for the feebback too - yeah, the recipes weren't very intuitive - it'll change with the post-jam version :) The timer show you in how many seconds the new client will come. In the post-jam version, it works a bit differently but the purpose is the same :)
I've played the web jam version(i think) for about 10 times now and sadly i must stop.Its a great game seriously I love it!!!Amazing art,dialogues and i love these kind of games so its a 10/10, it's just sad that i found only 2 endings but i found the cookie carrot ice cream recipe YAY!
Technical:
Honey and Strawberry Ice Cream and Spicy Carrot cake recipes give a failed ugly thing
You can win by just talking and not baking at all so a small tweak there?
You can bake as much as you want without using the redo it button
Maybe make it so the intro is skippable after the 1st watch
Final thoughts:
Hope you keep working on it because:I LOVE IT!!!

I am sorry that I couldn't memorize the recipes fast enough and had to move on in the live stream. I really liked your art, the dialog system, and the crafting system... They must have taken awhile to make! I only wish maybe you could flip through a cookbook while the crafting window was up. Great entry!
if you haven't already please give my game a try [Zombie Power Station](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/zombie-power-station) HTML5 Thanks
To sum up, everything in this game was great ! Good entry !
@belga54 Yeah, I wanted to do a personalised font but haven't had the time, but for the post-jam version, I promise ! :)
