Crossroads by jka
You're the last known survivor of the apocalypse. In a desperate attempt to stay alive, you make deals with the devil at an abandoned crossroads...
Rules - Enemies come in waves. Survive as many waves as you can. - Your health is restored between waves. - Between waves the devil appears for a short time. If you stand close enough you can sign pacts to become stronger, but you lose one max. health for each pact you sign. - Every 5 waves one max. health point gets restored. - All upgrades stack. For example: if you get piercing bullets, your bullets will pass through 1 enemy. If you get it again it will pass through 2 enemies, etc.
Controls - WASD - Move - Mouse - Aim - LMB - Fire - 1 - Buy upgrade 1 - 2 - Buy upgrade 2 - M - Mute/Unmute music
Tools/Libs used - Unity 2019.1 - RetroKit (made by me): Used to create all sprites, animations, sound effects and music for this game. - NavMeshPlus: For path finding/object avoidance.

Everything else seemed absolutely fine
@crosenlund79 Oh, that is weird! Did you stand near enough to the devil? Some text should pop-up that you can press 1 and/or 2 to buy different powerups.
@strugglesingamedevelopment Haha, I found that weirdly satisfying as well. :wink: The harsh difficulty was intentional, but I'm sure it could do with some better balancing.
@paragonraptors The short time is intentional, to force the player to make a quick decision. (The devil is a busy man. :wink:) Might have went a bit too far with it though.
@evolus Thanks!
Thanks for playing and the feedback everybody! :smile:
Also, I found that it sometimes better to buy nothing at all and just get through a wave by having more health points. :slight_smile:
Thanks for playing and thanks for your feedback! :smile:
Self-explanatory. Very hard. But fun! I like the 8-bitty music a lot.
I did realize that sometimes buying nothing is the better option.
It's really intersting feature that you can kill yourself by buying a contract with only 1 life left. I just had to try it ^^
@jintsen Haha, that's one of those oversights that became a feature, because it made me smile. :wink:
