Zoe and the Polypantheon by Carraka
Zoe's waited her whole life for this exact day: a field trip across the seas to the newly excavated Temple of the Polypantheon, where there's a shrine for seemingly every god in existence (and Zoe is a sucker for gods).
But when Zoe accidentally-maybe-on-purpose gets locked in the temple overnight, strange things start happening. Things that shouldn't glow begin to glow, and ancient beings stir. Zoe must figure out how to appease the gods ... at least until the electricity comes back on.
We humbly recommend that you please humbly play in the humble fullscreen mode.
POINT-AND-CLICK INSTRUCTIONS: Click on items in the world to pick them up or interact. Double click an item in your inventory to examine it. Things work well, it is beautiful, great sound well thought gameplay, im not even a point & click person and I had a good time. Great Job!
But this was the best LD entry I saw and really interesting to play. It's also very polished. But I wish that code puzzle were easier :(
The error-sound when entering the wrong combination was a bit loud for me.
But wow, everything else here is solid. Good writing, standard point and click implementation, multiple endings. The works.
If I had to complain, the lack of a save feature makes some of the joke endings a bit rough. We all knew I was going to end the world with delicious candy...
Really though, amazing work!
Great game!
Also, there was no link to this page in the itch.io (latest version) page, which is probably costing you a ton of ratings.
This game left me speechless. You made it in 72 hours? I'm amazed. Art is fine but all systems working (tried the patched version). The code puzzle was hard but when I found the solution I was like "OMG this is so clever!". Thank you for the game, I recommend! :)
One of my favourite aspect as a musician was the change in the mood in the song for each time a stone piece was found. Amazing detail!
@bubblewandgames, @babyking, @terryg, and @mattwagar, there is now a walkthrough available if you would like to go back and discover the remaining ending(s). https://www.instagram.com/p/BrWYXBulNpY/
@archimagus, @joh, @hakar, and @fireslash, sorry for the abrupt ending. We actually only got those in literally minutes before the submission deadline. We have since added a short transition for each ending to go between making the final sacrifice and the ending screen. Also, you can now continue your game from the main menu so you don't have to redo the whole game to get the remaining endings!
@sargonius, @matank, and @arzi, the code seems to be the most common place where users have gotten stuck. There is now a walkthrough available which includes hints as to where all the parts of the code are, and the code itself on the next page. Also, we apologize that the top half of the plaque above the desk was not in the hitbox for that hint, we made the game to accommodate a 16:10 ratio, but did most of the work in 16:9, so we missed the top part! https://www.instagram.com/p/BrWYXBulNpY/
@hectigo, unfortunately, we couldn't really incorporate the feedback you have provided. The journal and brochure need to be available for reference at any time, so spreading out the reading must be done on the user end. Also, while a drag and drop system would make some sense, since everything was creating using unity buttons, it would have been a lot of work to code in for a relatively small improvement, which we did not have had time for in the 72 hour timeframe. Also, drag and drop would have been problematic for a multi-page inventory. Sorry we couldn't implement your suggestions, but thank you for the feedback.
@pablodap, thank you for the feedback. Since the title picture was created by a different artist than the character animator, the style of these two art pieces different, so making them match would be impractical.
And once again, to everyone, thank you for taking the time to play our game!
I'd say that there is a little bit of the usual point and click sins (moderate pixel hunting, the try anything on everything gameplay, accidentally combining items and losing use of an item) but overall each of the items' use was made great sense given the lore - which was again a very strong point in this entry, as I was totally sold on the idea of a Polypantheon and the notes on each of the Gods was great work. Managed to solve the code for the room. Managed to make it to one of the endings although I think I missed out on one God. Really great job on the graphics, but I'd like to especially highlight the excellent adaptive soundtrack. Impressive work in 72h. Thoroughly enjoyed it and great fun.
I loved the art and the music! The writing was also very good.
Overall, quite a good effort and I look forward to seeing what you guys make in the future :)
