Pack-It Down! by Dani

[raw]
made by Dani for LD 42 (JAM)

Picture this: A new supermarket has emerged, but here the customers just tell what items they want, and then they'll get it delivered in a paper bag. Well you ended up working here having to pack all the bags. So hurry up, items will fly in from the left and you have to pack them in the bag and give it to the customers on the right, but DON'T drop the items, no one likes a dirty salad.

I'm not sure of what you tried to accomplish here, but I'm sure it could be pushed further by first figuring out better controls.
Good job !

Fun game! I wish that it was a bit easier to control the items once you grab them. I also would have liked some audio for the game, that would've enhanced the game a bit more and made it more enjoyable. I thought the concept was fun and enjoyed my time playing your game. Good job overall!

It's been rather fun experience. If it would be more fleshed out I could see me playing this game for a little bit longer. Would be nice to a better end game screen.

Great concept, and other than some small glitches, quite playable too.

A better balance between movement of items and physics would help. I do like the fact that you have to be a bit careful when packing but it's a bit extreme when the items go flying all over the place when you stop moving.

Also found it difficult to move the bag once packed.

What a lad this customer is, not accepting a wrapped bread that barely touched the floor and just leaving. Next run I smashed the bread so hard into the customer's face that the wrapping came right off, and flew off screen. I liked the player vs physics mechanic, but i wish that there were more to it.

Doesn't work for me on Linux (so I didn't vote).
Here's the log if it can help you fix it: https://pastebin.com/UfGQwAnc

@gajop I have tried rebuilding the linux version, though I can't promise it will work for you. If it doesn't work, then you can play our web build on https://danithegamer.itch.io/pack-it-down. Thank you :)
And everyone else: Thanks a lot for your coments :D We really appreciate it :D

@megalegomand Thanks. I used the web version and it worked.

So regarding the game:
- I didn't have any fun but I thought the whole point was suffering anyway? Mixing physics and cats, what were you thinking :)
- Generally like the idea

Nice game but controls are really bad and it makes the game much more difficult then it should be.
