Survival Quiz by Camixo

[raw]
made by Camixo for LD 41 (JAM)

"Survival Quiz" was developed for this Ludum Dare 41.

The theme was "Combine 2 incompatible genres". So I decided to combine a Survival Horror game with a simple Memory Quiz game, in a first time. But it's finally look like a turn-based and Quiz game in a same time. Not a big idea and not very effective but I think is normal because is incompatible as the theme propose... any way, hope you can enjoy my questions based on memes and random one.

I wrote all questions in 10-15 min in reality. If you want to suggest types of questions or other things, do not hesitate. You can comment for this and thanks in advance, if you do that.

Very simple quiz, good "memey" questions. I can appreciate it ;)

Of course the game is not very intricate, but I like the effort in the mood and graphics department. Good job! As a side note I also really like the music (:

A really weird mix of themes. I like it!!
For most of the questions I had know idea what to answer, but I guess that was the whole idea.

It was a nice game, too bad there were not enough question imo. I don't really see where are the two genres, but it was fun to guess the references !

Thanks for yours feedback : @firehawk, @sun-parlor-studios, @freebo and @sabeurre.

@freebo I will rate your game, it's look very fun.

@sabeurre The idea of two genres use here are like survival Turn-based and Quiz in a same time.
But like I say, it's doesn't looknot very effective. Glad you enjoy my questions in the game.

Thanks for stopping by my stream https://www.twitch.tv/saoigames tonight.

I gave you feedback on the video, but also wanted to rate you here. It was hard to tell at first which character I was playing. I wish there would have been a death animation on the zombies so I could better understand whether they were taking damage or just taking a step backwards.

At first it seemed like there should be a health bar for the zombie to give you and understanding of how much progress you had made, but then when I realized you were killing a certain number of zombies it would have made sense to have a # of 14 counter above the zombie.

If you decide to polish this, having 14 characters each with 3-4 questions might be interesting. Imagine having the questions related to the character in some way, like having a butter robot that knows Rick and Morty Trivia and zombies ask about anatomy.

Food for thought.

Thanks for sharing your game.

Thank you for your feedback @saoi-games. I appreciate that.😃
I take good note of what you say, it's can be helpful if I do, as written, a polish version.

For the animation of death of the zombie, it was planned but I accelerated the pace for lack of time, unfortunately for me. The Zombies hased to reappear with each question too. Glad you enjoy, it was funny to see your reaction in the stream. 😅

Caught my eye because we also did a Trivia/Survival game. Well done. An animation of the zombie being smacked down after a right answer would be really satisfying. Apart from that the game is top notch. Well done!

Really nice game, both aesthetically and conceptually. Some questions and answers are funny, some hilarious. Obviously need mode questions. Can't give more than 5 stars, sorry :)

Impressive menu screen; it got me pretty hyped. Also impressed by how disappointed I am :P I joke but I do feel the game needs a native English speaker to make the game better. A text game with confusing text is not a good way to go; find de way to go.

Good mix of visuals and audio, though.

And thanks for @Langotriel too. I think I understand your perspective.

Very nice looking game, I think a good step to take the game further would be to make the questions more about surviving in the wild and you could make that the whole game concept of survival as opposed to a "fight". Some of the questions felt a bit cheap/dated, so more clear questions would be better, but good job!

Thank you for your feedback @roka-josh. These are good suggestion for improvement, thank you.😃
But for this project I do not think to improve it anymore. The goal, for me, is to practice coding something that works, reusable, improvable and useful for other Unity projects. (All in the fun)
