Tank Thunder by net3ton

[raw]
made by net3ton for LD 40 (JAM)

Kill enemies to get orbs. Bring orbs to the teleport to get SCORES. More orbs you take with you (maximum is 10), less speed and less shoot rate you get. Bring as much orbs to the teleport as you can! Each time you bring orbs to the teleport your health/speed/shoot rate restores! Go on!

PS: Windows version has a cooperative mode - just connect a gamepad for player 2 =) PPS: Sorry, no audio =(

Reasonably well implemented 'twin-stick' shooter. The spawn rate of the enemies might be slightly to high. At least at the start of the game.

Some sound/juice would really help turn this game from a 'I made a game' to 'I made a **GAME!**'

Thanks, Jason! Yes spawning scheme is very simple, it really needs adjustments.

Nice game. Some sounds would've given a certain kick, it's a "shooting" game afterall. But other than that, well done, liked the concept!

**Pros:** Gameplay is solid. Graphics are decent. Fits the theme.

**Cons:** Enemies spawn too quickly. No sounds.

Sounds often add a lot to the experience. Try adding some sounds and maybe even background music for the game.

The game started out quite fun and challenging, but after a while enemies spawned only from bottom left corner (bug?) which made the game super easy. Other than that I liked idea of risking getting caught up by the enemies to gain more points.

Controls and shooting all feel on point! The only complaint would be sound, and maybe some sort of different type of enemies to break the monotony and force players to be on their toes and not just shoot at 'em.

It's a fun game! It's like Enter the Gungeon, but you only have 1 gun, and you have things that slow you down that you have to get rid of quickly. Once you get the hang of it, though, the game gets really easy. Once you get past the initial horde (which you can manipulate by just having them chase you around, grabbing as few orbs as possible), all that's left are the enemies that spawn from a single spawn point (this is a bug, I guess) and remaining orbs, which you can clear while waiting for enemies to spawn so the map isn't littered by death traps.

My suggestion is to increase the spawn rate the more enemies the player kills or the more orbs the player sends through the portal.
