Last Sunset by piscythe

Every night, the sun god, Ra, descends into the underworld. To reach the surface again, he must defeat the great serpent, Apophis. If he loses this battle, the sun will never rise again.
Battle hordes of deadly enemies, three dangerous minibosses, and the lethally powerful Apophis in this challenging shooter. As Ra, you must make sure that this is not the last sunset.
Use the arrow keys or WASD to move and the mouse to aim and shoot. Switch shot types using the 1, 2, and 3 keys. Match the color of your shots to the color of your enemies to deal massive damage. Both shooting and getting hit cost power. If your power gets too low to keep shooting, your attacks will become colorless. Collect ankhs to restore your power. Press ctrl or r to use the nova attack, damaging all enemies and clearing bullets from the screen. The nova has no energy cost, but you can only use it three times.
Tools: Phaser, Gedit, Inkscape, TexturePacker, lmms, Audacity. Voice acting done into my laptop's built-in microphone.
Known Issues: keyboard input doesn't work for some people. I have no idea why.

I'd had some power up, or a checkmark: the game's a bit too unforgiving.
To change color, I think you could use something else than 123: maybe space to run though color?
Still I enjoyed your game: well done!
In all, nice job!
That being said, the fact that each shot type was designed for each enemy type was really cool (eg spread for enemies that approach you). The diversity of enemies makes it that much more interesting to play, and the bosses are a pretty cool expansion on each enemy type's core ideas.
The overall controls felt a bit slow at first, but I got used to it soon. Still, I found that you could've done something different for changing weapons (like cycling using Q and E, for example), so it would become even more easier and accesible. But I found it pretty fun to play and quite challenging! :D
The music also helped set up a nice mood for the game too! And it really fits the game's setting!
Nice work, Good Job! Cheers! :D
Different controls might make this a very different game - right click to cycle, long click for nova... This would make it easier to stay mobile and fighting, which is vital in a bullet hell game.
I really liked the art style, simple but effective, the music is good (well, I think the boss music is too loud and quickly gets boring, but it exists and the other music is good!), the controls are fine... Even if I feel using the 1/2/3 isn't really practical (maybe you could have switch color with the mouse right button or something?), as well as using the Power Nova (R + ctrl ? Why not just R ? ^^)
Otherwise, it's really good. Well done! :)
All in all very well polished game. Great work, I really liked playing it. :)
The music and graphics are simple, and yet very evocative. The game has a great mood, which is further underscored by the element of mythology you chose to include! The light being reduced in step with your energy levels worked was a nice touch as well!
The difficulty was pretty high, I had to try multiple times to survive long enough to get past the first miniboss - and then the game crashed shortly thereafter, because I missed the small window and accidentially clicked outside the game canvas. I managed to get a bit further on later attempts, but unfortunately not to complete the entire game.
The three different types of shots, matched to different kinds of enemies was a nice way to bring some extra variety to the gameplay, as were the minibosses.

>Apophis rises. Stop him!
>And save the sunrise!
