It would be nice if the first level went directly to the countdown when you restart, and some of the invisible walls are a bit too close to the ground.
Cheers
Overall a great game that could have just been pushed a little bit further. You did a great job and should be proud.
Congrats on the entry!
This game is really cool, I love platformers and this looks and sound awesome, very good job on the graphics and sound.
The gameplay is cool because of the jet pack, jet packs are cool, especially ENDLESS jet packs! ;-)
The only thing that I noticed fell out is the connection to the theme. This is a simple race agains time and you can pick up a little time here and there, this has been in games forever, so a more creative use of the theme could have been incorporated into the game. But on the other hand it would have been a different game and like I said I really enjoyed this one, so I nevermind the theme that much, just wanted to point it out.
All in all, very cool game, cool music and a consistent art style, everything fitting together beautifully. Congratulations on this great entry and good luck for the future, keep up the good work!
## Feedback:
Initial impression was quite nice, I liked the menu music. The game music volume was quite a bit louder though, it also was pleasant to the ears but the difference in volume was a bit jarring. Continuing along it was pretty quick and easy to figure out how to play, move and jet pack. Sitting idle used energy, at a lesser rate than flying, but that was nice to keep things moving. When I died the first time I was looking for a button to restart/replay from keyboard. Mostly because keyboard was primary (only) gameplay controls. The keyboard to mouse action here is a bit jarring and undesired, perhaps space/enter restarts and escape goes to menu? The restart icon was hard for me to understand, looked more like a Q. I do see where it is supposed to be a circle with and arrow on one end, but it might be too pixelated to read that.
Speaking of the art, the color selection is good, relaxed colors and not over saturated/primary colors. But the resolution of the different objects was a bit odd. A lot of the font, ui and restart icon have like 8x8 pixels or even larger, while many in game things had at most 2x2 pixels perhaps smaller. Keeping this consistent may be more visually appealing. The animations were effective, and particles? for the jetpack.
I kept saying one more try so I'd say I was motivated to finish the game. On the final level the wall drop seemed to -always- be in the way, which was slightly annoying. It would have been different if it were random, or had a reason, perhaps releasing a boulder to roll towards me- or maybe it opens for a secret passage instead of just slowing down the player.
The maps also seemed a little difficult to learn / see the first few times around. Though this probably works in favor of having some gameplay. The final level for instance was actually hard only if the player went to grab things (spits and power) that they didn't need to complete the level. It would be nice if the battery packs _really_ had an effect on the power levels and the extra spit would be necessary, perhaps it could even cover spikes to make them easier to deal with, or if you had spit and got hit perhaps that acted as HP vs 1 hit kill.
Anyways, good entry!
Thanks a lot.
PD: Loved to chill with your stream!
