I ended up binding the commands to hotkeys on my keyboard :D
It was still quite a button mash fest to get to the ring. Some more decision making would probably help but might deter from the minimalism.

Although seeing the scope of the game I think it could have done with a few addition. A command history and autocomplete could have been a good idea, retyping the same word 5000 times gets repetitive.
Colors printing could have made it easier to read quickly what is happening.
The core of the game is just typing 'cast' a bit more variety or input to the actual fishing would be cool too.
I don't know the context in which you made the game or how much time you had and I guess the main goal of LD is to fulfill your own objectives, but I feel you could have done more in 48 hours.
I did find one bug -- somehow the first time I went fishing I ended up with -1 bait.
Having events out at sea, or even shortcuts lie pressing :arrow_up: to use your last command would make things a bit better.
It is tidiously repeatable.. but then such is the nature of working hard to get something. So the "mood" tgets 5/5.
Also since the dock/sell/undock doesn't take that much time, and numebr of castings and buying the bait is not affected, I don't see much point in extra inventory slots. Especially for this price. Maybe adding more expensive bait that can lure better fish, would give a game a bit more depth...
Another thing that would have added to "choice" mechanics of the game would be an ability to dump some items out of inventory. Like if you want to get more fish on your haul aqnd don't wand to return with a boatfull of boot.

ctrl + v has never been spammed like that before, i like this, its a little tedious (and hurts my hands) but it stuck to the theme and was an overall interesting concept.

I discovered that, to get enough money to purchase the ring, you will need to type `cast` approximately 1,000 times.
I guess this is a game? Technically? I think it might have been more definitely a game if you could ever do anything to accelerate the rate of money gain
Great idea, clean code, I enjoyed playing this one. It would have been a cool feature to have the shopkeep remark on the things you buy every once in a while, maybe saying weird things to mix it up. Just a little push to keep it from getting repetitive. All in all, awesome submission.
