Electr-Ed by Josh Klecka

[raw]
made by Josh Klecka for LD 39 (JAM)

Title.png

Help Ed maneuver though his uncle's RANDOMLY GENERATED basement/abandoned laboratory and find the batteries before the darkness takes over! Too bad Uncle Amps didn't tell poor Ed that the reason he abandoned the lab was because his experiments escaped!

Poor Ed... the crybaby who is deathly afraid of the dark now has a reason to be.

Tools: Unity, Aseprite, FL Studio, Pixel Edit, VS Code, and of course, GIT

Really good game! The floating things make it really hard.

Wow! This game is really good. I am proud of all the creators. You guys worked hard. The control are little janky but it is great! And the randomly generated maps really throw me for a loop, I thought that was a great touch! The art work, the music, everything was great. I am really proud of you guys!

Great game! I really loved the art and the music.

I found it a little hard to figure out where I was. Maybe a minimap would have helped?

But overall great!

loved the music and the graphics!. The collisions with the enemies felt a bit off, but apart from that, pretty good game. Great job man!

This is a really cool game. The art was really well drawn and the music fits so well. Unity on my computer set the graphics to ultra low on default, so the enemies moved at hyper speed. The best way around this is to use all rigidbody code in void FixedUpdate(), or multiply the force by Time.DeltaTime . One I fixed my graphics to ultra high, This was an incredible entry. Great work!

All the time those crazy professors forgot to tell you that little unimportant detail about their inventions / laboratories! (´ヮ`) Cool game, like flow of the movement and overall mood!

Great presentation for the game. The title screen especially made a stellar first impression on me. In general all the animations are impressed and not typical of what you see in LD. I wish I could get a chance to enjoy the gameplay more, the game is awfully hard when there are 8 clouds blocking the way back and you pray there's an alternate exit. Good job giving the impression of paranoia from the monsters + outside boundaries closing in on you.

Music makes good mood, also animations are great (love it) :) .
I enjoyed gameplay, it's not easy to avoid all monsters :) .
So much work, congratulations :) .

I liked the presentation and audio, but this game is awfully hard. It could use a minimap or more spawn points for batteries - all my playthroughs seemed to never have enough of them (and sometimes there were a few of them in one place).

Great music. The gameplay was lacking, after a point getting a battery wouldn't increase the light enough to give you the time to get another battery, walking back and forth getting batteries gets bland after a while, and the monsters weren't exactly the most fun creatures to evade.

Simple and nice first entry, congrats for finishing it!

I liked the music and the mood, but I kind of got lost in the level. I thing I noticed the darkness looming into you wich was a nice idea :-D

Cool! The game gets boring after a bit, but props on procedural generation, and the title screen is wonderful.

The music is rather catchy and definitely has some funk to it (in a good way), but try to watch your mixing -- the bass is rather overpowering and quite muddy, and in general the soundscape isn't too balanced. Cool tune though!
